I have the action 2 and love the camera. Right now Dji's best product on the market right now is their osmo pocket 3. It keeps selling out but it's probably the best camera of the year. Only complaints I have with DJI over Gopro is because of the CCP association or whatever reason their app is banned on the Google play store so you have to download an API. The cameras themselves are amazing though.

I *think* DJI and GoPro are pretty close on quality (could go either way depending on the recording environment), but obviously the DJI is cheaper. I just bought two GoPro 10 Blacks and absolutely love them. I bet I would also love the Osmo. I probably paid more to get the GoPro simply because I'm used to the GoPro ecosystem....

How does it perform under cold weather. My older gopro/battery costantly freezes after few seconds of footage

If you need an action camera, then yes, the DJI Action cameras are great. Very close to GoPro (some pros, some cons) but for a lower price. I have the original and the Action 2 which I still think was a very underappreciated, clever product.

This is a great price for the 3. The Action 4 has a bigger sensor for better low-light (which will also help clarity in anything indoors or even shadows) but don't be dissuaded from an Action 3.

I just got the Osmo Action 4 in November. It's the best out currently. The light sensor alone, makes it worth upgrading to. The low-lighting video is incredible. 1hr@4k shooting with a battery. The adapter for it, allows easy external mic+charging ability. I ride my motorcycle for 8+ hours, non-stop recording

I had it on a snowboard trip last season at single digit F temperature in Utah and it worked fine.
