A note about Walmart return via Fedex option.
Today I received two emails from Walmart. First one reads, "Your refund is on its way. Sorry things didn't work out. We've initiated a refund and wanted to provide a quick overview for you." Then a few hours later, I received a second email "Refund cancellation …Unfortunately, the items we received didn't match your return request. Your return has been canceled, and your original payment method has been charged $XXX.XX again for the items you were refunded for."
I called Walmart customer helpline and was told the exact same thing as the email and to send in the correct item which was impossible because I've already sent them the correct item. Walmart won't tell me what item was received and refused to send back the original item back to me. So my only option left is a credit card chargeback.
Safest return option is to wait in line at Walmart.

To answer No, my default card wasn't Amex blue however I selected specially for the plus subscription payment. However when you change the page it goes back to default to need to be careful.

"We're unable to create your Walmart+ membership right now"
Walmart will deliver to us though, free (with W+), any grocery order of at least $35. And they'll still "ship" non-grocery items, most of which come same or next day from our local store. I say "ship" because it's usually just a dude who drops it off in a car, same as the grocery delivery. Anything that ships, via FedEx usually, gets here in 2 days, same as Prime ... for the most part.
We started using the Walmart app for pickup during covid, so switching from Prime to W+ was a pretty easy choice.
As for the prices, Walmart and Amazon tend to match each other's prices in just about everything sizable. I find Walmart to be cheaper on smaller items (e.g. a bottle of glue or a pack of index cards). Amazon does their flash sale stuff sometimes, but Walmart does the same thing for W+ members only.
Pair it all with the Walmart credit card that gives you 5% back on online purchases, and its been working out pretty well for us.
