Depends on how long your power tends to go out. In PA...my power goes out like 5-6 times a year, for an average of 6-10 hours. I bought a smaller Ecoflow delta for like 800 on sale along with a smaller Ecoflow river one for like 500(with additional battery) .
In addition I got a golabs i200 for like 118.00.

I can use the golabs to power the internet for over 12 hours, and the Ecoflows for anything else, including powering my computer/refrigerator/watching tv/charging devices.
My house is like 3500 sq ft. With internet and devices and the ability to make coffee in the morning with my Keurig, the family is overall happy and it hasn't been a big deal. If we want a hot meal, the grill is always available too.
Total cost about 1500.00
Use code DPUOFF for $1100 off or $4700 after coupon
As soon as you said, you lose power 2 to 3 times a year, my first thought was dang this guy is from Michigan too

I guess all I care about is his discount code. The code offered by EcoFlow only knocks off $800. His code knocks off $1000. Thanks!

Depends. For me to install a whole home generator...it would cost 5-7k for the generator...but like 15k to run propane lines thru my finished basement. Depends also on how long your power tends to go out for...

I already have a whole house generator that came with the house. It blew a rod last summer and I have been debating on replacing it or go solar. I can't get myself to spend $5k on an ice generator. I do need something as we lose power 2-3 times a year. I rather invest in a solar system but that's too much as well as we don't get a lot of sun in Michigan.

Watched some of his videos a while back, he started spouting conspiracy theories and that was enough for me.

Not the same. Powerwall is not portable and is just a battery. You still need an inverter. The powerwall cost significantly more.

Not cost effective unless I rebuild it myself and the unit is over 30 years old.

Ha. Surprised I didn't lose it last night with the heavy snow we got. Lots of people out of power around here, but for once the outages missed me.

Personally, I've got a 5kWh lifepower4 battery + 3kW hybrid inverter that keeps me going through outages, and I can top off with a gas generator as needed. Not including the solar panels I got with it, that battery+inverter cost around ~$2000 shipped.

These units look pretty nice (especially next to something like a Tesla Powerwall), but I'd be concerned about dropping this kind of money on something completely proprietary.
