I have a Sun Joe pole chainsaw. It works pretty well. But of course, at that height, branches aren't very thick. I had another highly rated 4" chainsaw, cheapo from Amazon, battery powered, two batteries supplied, about this price. It cuts, but chatters a ton. You really need to focus on what you're doing, else there can be trouble. What I noticed on this Sun Joe chainsaw, is that the cutters are on every other link. That was same as my 4" chainsaw, that I returned. I'd look for ones that have cutters on every link, that will work smoother, but still need to practice safety.

Your comment reminded me that I accidentally cut my gf (now wife) finger and almost her torso the first time I used an electric chainsaw. It's been 14 years and haven't used it since.

paid $50 for a sunjoe 4 inch chainsaw with polesaw option that I've been totally happy, came with same battery/charger. Just wish the pole was longer.

None of my chainsaws, including my bigger gas-powered ones, have cutters on every link; I don't recall ever seeing such a thing.

I have a battery-powered chainsaw and reciprocating saw. I find that for bigger branches, the battery-powered chainsaw is just easier than reciprocating.

Also, a tip: if you're just using this for pruning branches, use biodegradable chain oil. It's better for the tree. Both HD and Lowe's sell it.

Apples and oranges. I own this tool and also own a nice reciprocating saw. This burns through a branch bigger than my arm in seconds. Would take significantly more time with the reciprocating saw.
