I have both, including this very same tool, bought just last year. It's way quicker for cutting limbs and even small trees. That said, it's not as safe as a reciprocating saw, and requires more attention when using and maintaining (oiling, chain tension, de-vining, etc).
None of my chainsaws, including my bigger gas-powered ones, have cutters on every link; I don't recall ever seeing such a thing.
I have a battery-powered chainsaw and reciprocating saw. I find that for bigger branches, the battery-powered chainsaw is just easier than reciprocating.
Also, a tip: if you're just using this for pruning branches, use biodegradable chain oil. It's better for the tree. Both HD and Lowe's sell it.
Because my cheapo chainsaw chattered so much, I compared it to Milwaukee, DeWalt, Ryobi mini chainsaws. Especially the Milwaukee 8 inch, look at the cutters on the chain. Agree, chainsaws way better than recip for trees. Good tip on the oil. I just got Oregon because it was best rated, didn't research oils much. Thanks!
Chain tension requires constant adjustment otherwise it wont start. So every time, i have to unplug the battery yo be safe and pull the chain a bit and then plug in the battery and it would start working. I don't have similar issues with other chain saw tools. $30,40 is ok though. Wont pay more than that.
Sounds like you need to change the seller from Atlas Sales Team (which shows $55 with 12 left in stock) to Amazon. Still showing $37.87 for me as well as the 20% off coupon being applied. The coupon may be due to me being a Prime member (??) as it sounds like not everyone is eligible for it. The coupon is eligible on the items on this page (if it links to it for you). https://www.amazon.com/promotion/...PDKIKX0DER[amazon.com]
Ah thanks that is the case. I have prime but it says im not eligible, oh well.
