One thing I like about this compared to many competitors (ie Ecoflow Delta Pro) is that by itself it can do 240V while others require a second connected unit (not extra battery) to do 240v.

It has a NEMA 14-50 and L14-30 plugs.

What I am unsure of is how good are Anker's launch deals? Is it marketing BS meaning after launch sale it will be essentially the same price almost every day? How soon before it drops even further in price? Anker afficionados can weigh in here.

Exactly. Correct me if I am wrong but this is probably the cheapest way to get 240v in a battery station (since others require 2 units connected together).

question about the f3800 or ecoflow. i want solar, but its like 30k. i just want something so when the power goes out, the stuff in my house will keep running. my lights, internet, fridge etc. how does it work? from the pictures, it looks like i need to plug my fridge and whatever appliance i want into the unit when the power goes out which doesnt make sense to me. if not, will power automatically switch over to this when power goes out and i probably will just notice a blip during the switch, and automatically switch back once my power comes back?

Yes, you would be correct.
This F3800 and the Eco Delta Ultra are the only 2 that can run 240v stand alone.

Do to this, you need an electrician to install a switch for you so that if the power ever goes out, you can plug a station(like this one) into the transfer switch and your house can run off this machine.
I mean unless your power goes out all the time and for long durations, just get some extension cords and plug your necessities into the unit when the power goes out.

Let me add. Usually the electrician will install a box next to your electrical box. It will have a plug that you can use a cord to go from that box to a power station. Then you flip the switch over so that the house can use power from a power station. This is the cheapest way to transfer power over.

The Ecoflow Pro Ultra is 6kWh, the F3800 is 3840Wh, so there is a bit a difference in capacity. You can buy the F3800 + Expansion battery for $4500 @ 7680Wh which gives you more than the Ecoflow Pro Ultra.

Am in the market for one of these as well but I think I'm going to wait a bit later in the year to make a decision. It kinda sounds like prices on these may drop quite a bit.

Currently in my 42 degree house sitting on a heating mat plugged into my 500W battery and SERIOUSLY considering jumping on this launch sale. Power has been out for 24 hours and it's 16 degrees outside.

I'm cold.

I dont think theyre released much information on it.

That being said the SD link gives $1000 off the list price of the main unit. The Unit + Panel is the same price on the main Anker site as above. Not sure if the lower discount is worth it or not....

There is massive competition in solar generator storage right now, so prices are bound to come down. However, the one thing that is keeping me from getting this deal (or the current one - 10% more), is the 1200W per each of the 2 ports at 32-60V for solar panel charging. That, right now, rules out 99% of rooftop solar in charging that unit. But they are working on an add-on Smart Home Power Panel for an additional $1099 to fix this issue.

It is that "automatic" move to backup power that you want that is currently missing with the Anker F3800. They are working on a Smart Home Power Panel as an add-on but that will not be available till March for us to know what capabilities that will have.
Till then, as the other user mentioned, the current transfer switch method is a manual one. https://www.anker.com/products/a1...1257827478
