I bought a vengeance baitcast reel and they are usable for sure! I would not hesitate to buy. I am just trying not to buy because I don't need abs still have some I have not used yet...

update.. bought one. will put on a travel rod I am buying from bass pro.

I've heard baitcasters can take a while to get used to, maybe watch some videos about it just in case.

Baitcasters are like roller blades instead of skates. Once you learn them, you won't go back to spinning! (Except for certain situations)

Just got mine today - seems like it will be a nice one for my son. On this one piece spinning rod, there was a nice cardboard sleeve stapled around the rod tip, which gave it a lot better protection than the Penn deal (1 of the 2 I bought had a broken tip).

did you get two boxes or one for your penn order ? i ordered 2 as well but only got 1. also is this deal as good as the penn, if so ill just order one of these
