I've had a unit like this for the past 12 years. The big positive, is being able to put a load in to wash and dry before leaving for work (or going to sleep) and having it done by the time I'm back. The negative - it takes 3-5 hours for a load to go through wash and dry. I dont recall this ever being an issue for me, as we dont typically have anything that needs to be washed and dried quickly - but thats something to keep in mind when considering this machine

Do you have a unit with an actual heat pump? Lg and other brands have sold other models that don't use heat pumps. They use a cooling plate powered by water which causes it to take much longer to dry. I have one of those units as well, and i agree its not for everyone cause if you need something dried fast or just cleaned fast its just not going to happen. But the heat pump based units are much faster (wash and dry in 2-3 hours). Slightly slower than a traditional drier . But pretty darn close in my opinion and no need to move the close saves you some time as well(unless you need to take things out of the drier to air dry). The other big change that takes people a bit to get used to that all ventless units have is that they build up humidity in the machine. When you open it up once the cloths is done the cloths will almost feel a bit moist. This is just cause the air in the chamber is a bit humid. But it does confuse people the first time around.

Overall, all-in-one units are amazing in their convenience and efficiency, but they introduce some new quirks that you do need to get used to. I personally don't think i can ever go back to any other type of unit.

I have been using the GE Profile all in one for the last couple of months and it takes about 2 hours for a full load. These newer models use heat pumps to generate hot air. Older models of all in ones used a different technology. Check and see what yours is. May explain why it takes so long.

How full a load of clothes are you doing? Has it done well with a full load of towels?
This washer has a big drum and it takes a lot of laundry to fill it about half way. Clothes need room to tumble to dry efficiently. So with half full loads absolutely no issue drying. Our longest cycle which was towels only cycle took just over 3 hours.

And just to illustrate half full was with 8 or 9 towels. So this machine theoretically can wash 20 towels but probably would never dry them properly.

Any normal size wash for my family with 2 kids, drum over half full, is 3 hours. My only 2 hours washes have been with the drum maybe 1/4 full. It does tend to over estimate though, an estimate that starts at 3:00 is usually done 2:45ish

How do returns work with LG? Any good experiences? Im thinking of paying the extra $200 to Costco for (potentially) easier returns and other perks.

If you're concerned, or expect perfection, you might want to just skip this generation. It's the first one - it is bound to have kinks and problems.

My unit dries small/medium loads within a couple of hours.

Currently testing a twin cotton/polyfill comforter. Estimated 2.2 hour dry time, currently has another 20 minutes or so. I wager I will need to run a second dry cycle, but we will see.

Edit: First dry cycle for the comforter done; as suspected, did not fully dry. The insides of the bundle was still wet. I flipped it and started another dry cycle. It estimates 1.5 hours.
Unfortunately my capability to manage my order was revoked Friday, more than the stated 48 hours prior to delivery. I had made the tough decision to cancel but am now going to have to take delivery and pray for the best.

I've learned that the terminology is upside down and backwards when it comes to the refrigeration equipment built into this new species of unit. They're called heat pumps, but they're not pumping any heat into the dryer, instead it is set up just like a dehumidifier. The evaporator coil is referred to as a condenser, presumably because condensing dryers and condensing combo units have had condensers for years and so if it is a dryer you call the thing where the moisture condenses the condenser. Don't ask me what they call the thing where the refrigerant condenses. LMAO

From what I can tell, the LG self cleaning video is consistent in operating concept with what I saw in the teardown video. Moist warm air from the drum is pulled into the back of the filter, makes 90-degree turn in the filter, goes into the evaporator, through the condenser, through the blower then back out into the drum. The water spray nozzles appear to be integrated into the plastic cover over the coils to spray the face of the evaporator, but the underside of the cover was shown only for a moment in the video so it is hard to say for sure.
This is reassuring, if everything works the way as advertised, which for some users it has not.

Now $1899@Costco. The 3 year Allstate (making 5 years total) is only $119 and would seem like a no brainer. It's a Costco Direct item so if you buy something else with red direct tag you get $100 off the total as well. But then again sounds like some of you got some crazy cash back on top of better price from LG Partner site.

There is a learning curve that needs to happen, but it sounds like more than that possibly? When the GE first came out there were some crazy comments, like time and that "heat pump sheen" that stayed on clothes for a few minutes, but this seems beyond that. Maybe not. But why I'm sitting on the fence for awhile
I believe this is the only path forward when purchasing these machines. The Costco name and brand will shield those of us who receive defective units. Thank goodness Costco is here for the average consumer.

Just ran the 'tub clean' cycle (no clothes in it) which purports to "clean and dry the inside of the washer". When finished, there was a ton of water still in it. Obvious that there's a problem with this unit.
I am so sorry to hear this happened to you. Please keep us updated on your communication with LG. It appears they have several roadblocks in place to avoid returning the unit, even when defective. The LG partner return window seems to differ from the normal LG store.

Question: how's the noise levels during extreme spin cycle for those that have this?

Ran 10 loads since I got mine last week. I noticed there's a constant rattle on coming from the right side during the fast spin cycle (default on ai wash and dry).

Rattle stops when I put a light force on the side panel. Seems like screws or insulation but the spin itself is loud and shakes the unit. Unit is leveled and legs secured on ground and pedestal
Have you checked if the transport/lock bolts were removed from the back of your unit? I hope this is a simple fix in your case.

I'm running into the same situation. I tried running a VERY small load of 8-10 pieces of clothing. Shirts, boxers, socks and similar. Each time it's taken 7-8 hours before I stop it manually. The experience that pushed me over the edge for a return was this one... I started a small load at 6pm, washing went fine. Dry time kept being extended by 4 minutes or 12 minutes. This continued to happen for several hours. I finally went to bed and figured it would finish overnight. I woke up the next morning and it was still running. Drying went on for 13 hours total before I finally stopped it manually.

I'll give phone support credit for trying to help me troubleshoot the issue, however in many cases they don't even know about this combo unit existing. You end up having to explain the product to them. One rep asked me if the installers checked the system after installation. I told him that they started a wash cycle and that it seemed to run fine. He said "then why are you trying to return the item?" I had to explain that the installers didn't stick around for 4 hours to make sure the dryer also worked.

Last but not least, the return process is painful. Each of the two departments involved ping-ponged me back and forth swearing that they could not process the return and that the other department would take care of it. I probably spoke with 10 reps in the process. Finally, the last rep I spoke to said I needed to email the returns department. I did that two days ago. So far... zero response.

Today I finally gave up hoping for a response and opened a dispute with my credit card company. I took screenshots of the invoice and return window policy to submit to my CC company.

For those of you that got working units, that's great. I wish that had been my experience. For those on the fence I hope my experience might be helpful in managing expectations.
Please keep us updated on your communication with LG. I am sorry you have a bad experience so far. Remember you have resources to voice your experience, such as BBB.

I would go with Costco if I had the choice right now. They also have the 3 year warranty for $120 which essentially protects your purchase for 5 years in total. This should also cover the heat pump (which is only covered 1 year by LG).

It's a full week of cloths over the top in a standard laundry basket.

We also washer bedding, pillow case, sheets, blanket, and comforter. This cycle took about 3.5 hours and was completely dry. Using ai wash and dry.

Will add my quick two cents. Received today. Initially they were only supposed to deliver at the front door. After I refused delivery they made an exception and carried it up one flight of stairs. Had to use my current hoses but no issues. Washed 3 towels and wash clothes initially using AI. Estimated time was 1:59 minutes. It extended the time twice by about 10 minutes each time. It was going to do it again but I stopped the machine. Checked the clothes and they were damp dry, took them out and shook them for a few minutes like GE recommend for their combo machine. And they were dry, so guessing it's a combo thing. Washed my king size comforter next, it's a heavy winter comforter. Used AI and estimated 2:25. It was done on time. It was slightly wet in the center but huge improvement over my previous dryer where it would be very wet in multiple spots and require at least another hour to dry. So far very pleased. The app shows energy usage of 2.63 KWh, about 0.39 cents used. Wow!

How can you confirm the second year of warranty when signing up for ThinkQ?

My delivery experience:
Delivery service: RXO (never heard of them)
Received alert emails and texts from RXO and LG on the delivery date
1 day before the scheduled delivery I was notified the delivery window was 12:00 noon - 4pm and I should expect a phone call 30 minutes prior to delivery.
At 4pm I chatted with RXO - was told that the guys were running late and they would contact the truck to have them let me know the ETA.
No contact until 5:15. Delivery guys called and said they were 2 minutes away.
15 minutes later they rang the front door bell and said they have the washer, could leave it with me, but couldn't install it because they didn't have any tools.
Me: sigh.
Me: "I have tools, can remove the old washer (per my order) and install the new unit"
Delivery goons: "yeah, we can do that"

They had no carrying straps and had only a rubber tired hand truck. As careless as they were, I was afraid they were going to damage it by mishandling it. I made sure they removed the 4 shipping bolts.
They finally got it into the laundry room but had a hard time since the feet apparently are pretty sticky and it didn't slide easily.

They connected the water lines and plugged it in to make sure it powered on before leaving. They didn't even connect the drain hose (easy enough to do myself - but it was the fact that they didn't even think to do it). They also didn't level the washer - fortunately, that was easy to do since I only had to extend one of the front legs with the adjustable wrench.

After adding the washer to my existing ThinQ account on my iPhone, I added detergent and kicked off a drum cleaning cycle partly to check out the operation and partly because it seemed to make sense to me. It's currently 1 hour into the cycle.

Impressions:
Seems solid and well-built so far. Controls, mechanics, functions all seem to work as advertised. VERY QUIET! At least on wash mode. Haven't heard the dry mode yet. Setup with the ThinQ app was effortless.

Concerns:
It's new to the market. I generally like to let others vet products' usability and reliability. I took the plunge on this unit mostly because of the significant discount.

Time will tell if it's worth the cost.

Had delivery today by "LX Pantos", 2 guys in an unmarked truck super polite and helpful. Excellent experience, they took my old units away, gave me time to inspect the new units for damage and ask any questions, installed a pedestal washer plus this heat pump all in one, ran tests on site for balance and diagnostics before leaving and it was really an amazing experience, "white glove" service and cleaned up after themselves fully. 2 hrs and fully dry towels on the AI mode, but the unit has some kinda smell, hoping it'll go away in time! Thanks OP!

It is recommended to run empty for several wash/dry cycles to help get rid of the smell. I have run 2 loads so far and it's been great.

I am worried about mold getting in the ezDispense tray. Any recommendations on how to keep this clean?
