For clarity - the proper name for this holiday is Lunar New Year, as this is not only celebrated by us Chinese - but also by other Asian countries that are not Chinese (e.g., Korean, Vietnamese, and others).

Chinese new year make sense and so it's lunar new year. It is originated from China. Both are proper name.

Agreed. And I hope no one buys from them. Overpriced plastic that shouldn't cost more than 25$ for this each. We must stop giving our money to these companies. And you'll see the prices will come down.

The genric building block sets from China are a much better deal than Lego. They now have equally creative sets as Lego offers (albeit no licensed IP sets). Happy Chinese New Year everyone.

For clarity,Lunar calendar is created by Chinese people. Follow me, it is Chinese new year. The other countries follow the culture from the ancient and this won't change the original name of it.

As someone mentioned it earlier, it's not the pure lunar calendar. It's like a lunar-solar calendar. The pure luna calendar is used by Persian ppl, if I remembered correctly. And this lunar-solar calendar is corrected with the help of western priest. Smilie

It is not originated from China. It is from Luna calendar, which is used by farmers around the world. Also ancient China is not the same sad today's China. Just like ancient Egypt is not the same as modern day Egypt.
