This is the new version of the Delta Max - just came out last yr. It has 2kWh capacity and the new feature of dual solar inputs.

I also see a bundle deal with 160W solar panel for $1,549.

Is this a good deal? Let's say I just want something to power my refrigerator for a few hours. How big of a unit do I need and how long will it last? Just ballpark...

It depends a lot on the size and age of your fridge. This battery could last 2 days on the high end, and as little as ~8 hours on the low end. If it's a relatively new fridge, it should last at least a day. If you just need it to last for a few hours, you can probably get away with a smaller and cheaper power station.

Are you sure you need one.

During a power failure a fridge will stay cold for a day, and a freezer for 2 days, as long as you don't open the doors. Besides most stuff in a fridge can even go up to room temp for a while and then cool back down when the power comes on. Example: vegetables, mustard, ketchup, etc..

A propane powered generator would be a lot cheaper and propane can store for years without any issue, unlike gas.

Now if you just want one to play with, that is fine Smilie

If you can live with regular solar panels, I pretty regularly see 100W aluminum frame panels on Amazon for $60
ex: https://www.amazon.com/JJN-Monocr...DJTJ/?th=1

Without looking at the specs, I'm sure this thing can take/needs 400W total in panels and probably more to charge up and run all day.

It should handle a fridge a few hrs no problem. A fridge runs about 150w per hr. Minus inverter losses you'll have about 1600wh so 10hrs roughly. Weather, opening doors will affect runtime as well.

An alternative option for anyone looking for more capacity: You can get manufacturer refurbished Delta 1 Max units that look like new that go on sale as low as $699 from Ecoflow's eBay store. If you don't need Lifepo4 batteries and can tolerate the louder fans, you can get double the capacity for the same price.

Have read the refurbished units can be hit and miss as far as condition and if DOA. Would buy a new Delta 2 Max if they came down closer to $1,200, hopefully later this year.

Marketplace is a great place to get panels. Assume they produce about 80% of their rated power.

If you want to save a bit and what the same capacity, Home Depot have the Delta 2 and extra battery for $999 or $924 at Wellbots.

Delta 2 with extra battery is same watt hours and fluctuates at Home Depot from $959 up. Got mine for $999.
