If you're considering these you really should go try them on in store before you buy them. These were on-sale back in the summer and I went to try them on in store, the fit was not great. I wear a size 11 wide and have flat feet: there was no support and the shoes felt much too loose. If I were to hike in them I would have been concerned about injury.

I disagree with your statement. If you're going on a long trail run, esp. in the mountains, you may need to walk part of it. I don't see an increased injury from walking.

I got these the last time they were on sale. I don't trail run but I do hike. These shoes are really comfortable and light. I have used them for Mountain biking and some road running too. I am a fan of the sock like design these shoes offer, and I really like these shoes! For about 65 bucks, I would buy another pair.

These are great light casual shoes too. If you want serious hiking shoes, the get some approach shoes with more support. I like these for what they are, not what they aren't.

Price still seems too high for clearance. Tons of name brand shoes for less at REI: https://www.rei.com/search?q=Trai...s%7CUnisex

Not sure where the rating is 4.4/5. When I click on the link, women's shows as 4.2 and men's as 3.5.

No more than mid or high top boots. If you have weak ankles then yeah maybe trail runners aren't for you. But tons and tons of us switched to trail runners as they are way less strain on your feet. Walking or running.

More than 99% of long distance hikers wear trail running shoes these days. Hardly anyone wears hiking boots any more because they are too heavy and likely to cause fatigue and subsequent injury.
