BTW, since I don't see a core charge for these. People should be able to get $10 by brining it into Advance Auto for at $10 Gift card.

Consider it a rebate card or another $10 off if you need battery accessories.

Since I don't know your exact setup or needs, I'll say that generally you want to keep a starting battery at 80% charge or above, and preferably keep it fully charged between uses.

Deep cycle batteries should be charged between uses as well, but can tolerate much deeper discharge without damage, so long as they're charged pretty quickly after use.

A starting battery can give you a much higher load in amps; a deep cycle battery is a reliable power source for long periods at lower amp loads.

That's why I used the words "core charge". With places like Autozone, Advanced Auto, Pep Boys or Local shops, you get charged a "core charge" aka deposit until returned on the old battery. When you bring back the battery, they give you that "deposit" aka, "core" charge back.

As this vendor is doing everything by mail, and not a big outfit they are not charging a "core charge" or deposit since the cost to ship it back far exceeds any deposit. Not worth it. But worth it for you to take it to Advanced Auto or your local junk yard which pays you as well. Might be $5-$15 depending on the place.

In the end, many places will send all the batteries back to the manufacturer to melt down the lead or metals inside for new batteries.

The same can be charged for things like alternators, brake calipers and starters where they can clean them, rebuild them and resell them.

Does anyone know how warranty works with this company? Seems like office is in California,

It's not like Sams club, Autozone, Pep boys, Costco etc when warranty exchange is needed where you can just walk into a store and swap.

Unless they have a distribution network locally, being without a battery for more than 1 day for some might be a problem if it requires shipping cross country.
My thoughts as well. 3 year warranty on a H7 AGM. No long term track record.

Unclear how warranty works. If there is no local distribution network to swap, it will be at least $50 by UPS ground just to the next state. Going to be expensive cross country and you'll be out of a battery for several day/week.

Second hand info but I've been told by someone who worked at a battery plant that there's only like 4 in the country and they just change the outside shell for the most part between companies.

I would use a battery guide via on of the popular auto parts stores, better if you try a few like Auto Zone and Advance Auto. They will give you a size and type and if you get the same answer on 2 or 3 it's probably right.

You could also cross-check online at other places like YouTube videos, I always look for a consensus because there are a lot of idiots.

There is also the crazy idea of looking to see if you can find labeling and such on the one you have now.

Here is a chart at Advance Auto Parts, for example:

I've bought several Walmart Value tier batteries (the cheapest ones with the 1 year warranty) and they've all lasted well beyond 3 years, which is the standard most batteries last for me where I live in my Honda vehicles. I believe the first and middle tier at Walmart are the exact same battery as the specs match just the extra year warranty. The Maxx are higher CCA's if that's important but the cost is double.

Most importantly, the advantage of Walmart is they are everywhere. I put the receipt for the battery in the car, so if it dies while I'm traveling, I can warranty swap it almost anywhere in the US.

Interestingly, the only batteries I've ever had to warranty are the ones from Costco. They used to be the best price to warranty ratio ($70 with a 4 year warranty for a 24F) but they are now $120 and 3 years, so the $50 1 year Walmart is still the best option for me.
I think Costco gives you $15 for an old battery. That means you need to pay only $105 for a new one.

Thanks for confirming what I already suspected. I just buy the cheapest value battery and don't count on the warranty which is meaningless after 1-2 years because I expect any batteries to work well for 2 years if they aren't abused like letting them run flat or low.

Would y'all trust these on a boat? Mercury engine. I know they're not marine application, but does it really matter?

Haven't had to buy a battery in a while. All you need to renew them if completely dead is distilled water and a cheap welder

There are a lot of people expressing concern with this brand, but it's largely unfounded and speculative, and not based on any experience. Reviews on Amazon average very high, in some cases higher than ACDelco, and Weize has a well established track record with AGMs for powersports applications.

AGM prices have gotten out of hand lately. This company is bringing a high quality option to the market at a very low price and I applaud that. I would not hesitate to equip my boat with this brand based on how it's performing in my daily driver. AGM batteries offer some advantages in a marine environment, like not needing acid levels checked in awkward places, and not burping out acid that damages your boat's battery compartment. If upgrading from flooded batteries, I would make sure that your boat engine's charging system outputs at least 14.5V (more important if you spend days away from shore power), and have an onboard charger that's rated for AGM charging. AGMs like a little higher float voltage to achieve 100% charge.

Edit: I should add that these are primarily high amperage starting batteries. They can be used for tilt/trim, lights, or other accessories on a limited basis, but deep discharging them is a no-no, so I wouldn't recommend them for trolling motors. As with flooded batteries, trolling motor duty is best suited to a deep cycle battery.like this:

I am a cheapskate and I happen to have a one year Walmart battery and it is rating at 585 CCA (100 less than the Max). Going on 2 years going strong. It's the same weight and same size as the next more expensive battery made by Johnson Control. I believe they are the same quality just different warranty period. If I am paying for the warranty, then I have saved enough to buy 2 new batteries compare to the Max. Yes, I understand I don't want to be stranded and my labor is extra. reviews between the Max and the value is about the same.
Get a portable jump starter and put it in your trunk. Occasionally charge it ( every month or so, put a reminder on your phone). I never got stranded.

I just buy mine from Costco. They have a 3 year warranty on them. I had an issue 2 years in and they took it back and they refunded me full price that I paid for it albeit they didn't let me exchange for another one. I had to pay the inflation price for the same one.
