Looks like they have Premium for $34.99 after coupon. I'm tempted.

I picked up Premium for $34.99 with this deal. Not sure if It'll go lower but that was low enough for me to bite.

Could you explain the primary benefit of Premium? Looks like state e-filing still requires a fee. I was having a hard time discerning the important differences.

Out of curiosity - why would someone do the download version or physical for that matter when you can instead just go to the turbotax website and complete it all online without the need for downloading/installing/etc. anything?

Does anyone know how much it would cost to upgrade to the premium and business edition from this version?

On the state side of things, California has its own website to file state for free. When I take the numbers that Federal spits out and plug it into the CA website, I get *significantly* more money back. Check your own state's options!

Ohio does too. I use the software to calculate the state number then enter it into the state's web based software to make sure it matches. I've also printed the HRBlock forms out and mailed them in to avoid the e-file fee, but then you have to watch for your refund via check (not direct deposit).

If you are saying that you use the HRBlock state software and get significantly more when using the state tool, I woukd say you are doing something wrong when you do the state yourself. Saying the HRBlock tax software is way wrong seems much less likely.

With this deal it's 20 bucks, I'm pretty sure it's more than that if you try to do it through online.

edit: also I print out the state, so it only cost me the amount of the stamp paper and envelope to send it in. I'm not paying more to state e-file unless it's free.

Right it totally is. I just didn't know if there was any additional logic or rationale aside from cost that someone would do this vs. the (simpler imo) on their website version.

FYI not for NY for any tax softwareal as by law they must allow digital filing for free.
