i own both of these items and love them. very good solar generator AND 400 watt portable solar panel. this is a good deal. But, you can also find the refurb combo on ebay. The delta 2 with 220 watt panel is currently $719 with 20 percent off coupon thru 1/16. Other combo deals also. Refurb warranty is 2 years. New items are 5 years.

Stupid question, I don't know electrical. I'm debating on getting 4x 12v 200ah batteries. How do you calculate that against this? I see more wh but I don't know how to do the calculations.

Was looking at this for a camper but don't know if 12v batteries, plus solar, an inverter and a charge controller is better.

Here is an ecoflow article. https://blog.ecoflow.com/us/ecofl...ion-specs/

Would highly recommend will prowse on YouTube that covers DIY systems, he has lots of videos on everything and a website.

Basically a 200amp x 12v battery should have 2400 wh.

Agree with Will Prowse, he makes all things solar easy to understand and is living my dream of using solar to power his electric vehicle.

Just get ready for a lot of eye rolls if he posts one of his rant videos about people and politics. Guy has a lot of anger built up against the world.

Could this be tied into the house power supply? Either to reduce use of grid power, or to sell to the utility?

No.
Way too tiny.
This could power an e-kooler for days, and as long as you had sunny days every 2nd day or every day it could power it all summer long.

I have a "solar generator" only slightly larger in Wh and it has done 2 summers for me with 400 W panels hooked up.

My e-kooler is a massimo , probably this one

This is a well-paired setup if you're looking to be able to run any 120V/15A appliance/device (like a kettle), and being able to top up ~(1kWh) in just a few hours (~2-3h) in good sunlight.

Their 400W panel alone pretty expensive - a price I'd never pay.. but this bundle is nice - I'd have paid this to get the 400W with my D2 (mine came with a 160W @ $875 back in 2022).

Mine has helped get me through multiple blizzard/cold-weather power outages, and I've fed it with a pair of bigger rigid 455W panels to get a continuous 500W (11-60V, 15A, 500W max) on sunny days after a storm to reduce generator use. Next time will be my bigger hybrid inverter that'll take whatever 2-6 of those 455W panels have to give

Actually, you can, and I have (fed my manual transfer switch with one of these Delta 2s) - see above. It's not going to run your whole-house AC or your electric stove.. but it can certainly help keep your gas furnace and fridge going in the middle of a winter outage.

And being able to keep the furnace burning, stop food going bad, and maybe run a toaster oven would be awesome.

I'm guessing it would need a pro to hook into the mains with a manual or automatic switch? Any idea how much that kind of set up costs on top of the hardware here?

Generally speaking, yes. It's not actually all that complicated to do, but local regulations/ordinances will usually require inspection at least, if not installation by a licensed electrician too.

It depends on what you have and what you want, exactly.. but shouldn't be more than $500-1k all said and done for a manual transfer switch.

I know you are just being a troll, but if you actually saw any of his rant videos you would realize it has nothing to do with his end points and more about how he gets there. He is a bit unhinged, which is odd, since in his solar videos he seems especially calm, cool, collected.

There are lots of options and price points.

Lookup interlock kits as the lowest cost. Manual transfer switches and automatic transfer switches.

Depends on how comfortable you are with changing main breakers.

I'm hearing their refurbs QA is sub par from what I'm reading, so looking to buy them new. My question...

Is the ecoflow Delta 2 Max worth the additional $300? Is currently $1499. Really wish Costco had these now for their potential return policy if needed.

To make this deal extra slick, this should stack with the military 10% off discount at home depot.
