Have you done your research because IMO your response is misleading.

The Slim 5 14" OLED model was released in August 2023, so this is already a newer model and isn't even 6 months old yet, so this model won't be refreshed its actually ahead of its time.

In 2024 NVidia isn't release new cards so all the new CES laptops (which aren't even released yet) are still using 40 series GPUs and most are being refreshed with OLED screens to upgrade for 2024 which this already has

This model is more expensive than the last Best Buy FP deal because it's the 32 GB variant. Best Buy only sells the 16 GB variant and the RAM is soldered onto the motherboard, so if you want 32 GB of RAM you must get it from Lenovo.

If you look at the history of this laptop the last time the 32GB went on sale it was this price and that was a FP deal.

So maybe do some research before misleading people. I say it's the perfect time to buy a laptop released in 23 because there are virtually no performance bumps in 2024 coming so you may as well get a better deal.

It's worth noting that both ASUS and HP have just released new 14" laptops also with OLED screens (and soldered RAM) so the choices have expanded a lot in this space recently. However the pricing will be closer to $1500-$1600 for 16GB of RAM and 4060 GPU and I am guessing availability is 1-2 months away. They will have the same GPU options and a very minor spec bump in the CPU which will be hardly noticeable to the average gamer. The competition in this space has blown up a lot so it will be interesting to see how things shake out over the next 6 months.

Personally I am waiting since I already have the ASUS 6700S BUT if you are in the hunt for a 14" with great build quality, good thermals, and good performance, the Slim 5 14" is a great choice and it's available now. You just need to determine if an extra 16GB of memory is worth ~ $250 over the 16GB configuration which is currently on sale for $1045.

If you look at the Specs page, it looks like Port 7 supports USB-C Power Delivery.

Port 7: USB-C (USB 3.2 Gen 2 + DP 1.4 + 140W PD).

However, you won't get full performance with the USB-C charger, but that is the issue with any gaming laptop, G14 included. Its more for on the go power so you don't have to lug around the full watt charger but won't be gaming.

Agree with you point I have also seen from reviews the speakers are a weak point of this system. However, I think I would take that drawback with all the other great things this laptop has since speakers is an easy fix with a good pair of headphones. For sure right now this model currently has the best Screen to Price Ratio.

It took about 2 weeks for me in NY.

First one arrived DOA, they sent out a replacement and that came 9 days later.

LOL How is this a good deal? Do not buy a computer right now. It's all old inventory that's about to drop. Don't believe me? Look at Lenovo's supply on their site. New computers are coming.

Do these charge with the type C port? Close to pulling the trigger on this one .... The screen and build are really nice, but the Asus Zephyrus laptops for sure charge with type C, even the refreshed ones. And they have MUCH better speakers. This one has the best screen to price ratio of the slim gaming laptops, so you have to pick your priorities, looks like!

Yes but you won't get full performance while gaming. This is due to the power limitations of USB C. To get full performance gaming you have to use the power brick and it's a dc plug.

I'm okay with that! It just means if you run off without your power brick, you could still at least use your laptop for basic tasks with your cellphone charger. Huge advantage. Thank you!

I like the specs but not the design. Def felt like cheap plastic in best buy. Also wasn't a fan of the keyboard.
