I would say this isn't that great of a deal.

The Walmart deal for x90k 75 inch at $800 was a good deal.

At this price point, it's better to go for an LG OLED 77 INCH B series if you can grab one for around $1500

If you really need an 85 inch, the I would go for a Samsung QN SERIES that goes on sale on their site a few times a year in the $1600 price point, much better tv

Just to let you guys know my Sony 65x85j failed less than two years if you buy Sony make sure you get warranty. Their quality is questionable! And also after the backlight fails it's not fixable because how it's constructed. I do love the colors of Sony but at this point I'm not sure about purchasing another one.

X90cl is back on sale at Costco for 1999. Newer higher end model with local dimming etc. and includes 5 year warranty. I bought one last time it was on sale and its quite good. Not AS good looking as my LG Oled it replaced, but bit 1000% less burn-in problems and the Google TV interface works great on this TV. Much smoother than on my Hisense kitchen TV.

TVs like this look awful in a dark room. Rtings gave it a horrible contrast rating. Blacks will look gray in a dark room. There will also be parts of the TV that look darker than others, as well as very likely having bright spots (clouding). All of those problems pretty much go away (or are far less noticeable) if you have a light on. The only TVs that look better in the dark are ones with good contrast and black uniformity. OLED, of course, as well as VA panels and TVs with good local dimming. IPS panels are nasty in the dark. This thing is very mediocre. https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews...uniformity.

I just bought both X90CL and x80 from Costco a few weeks ago for my living room and basement. Honestly, I don't think the differences are very noticeable, just for regular watching. Maybe I am not very picky 😉

I really liked our 85-inch x90ck from Costco last year but it was plagued by a bug that causes the image to be duplicated on each half of the screen across all inputs. I was shocked when it happened but after researching it I learned it occurs across several Sony models. It randomly occurs and you have to unplug the TV to fix it, which can be a pain when it's wall-mounted and weighs 100 pounds, and the issue can pop up again unexpectedly. This happened twice in the second week of ownership. At the time there was no permanent firmware fix from Sony even though it had been a known issue for over a year. I ultimately switched out the Sony for a Samsung and no issues. Just wish the Samsung supported Dolby Vision like the Sony did.

Part of me wishes I tried another x90ck but they're afflicted with the same firmware and I didn't want to wall mount/unmount a 100-lb TV again to return. Before the Sony we tried a 77-inch LG C2 but were kind of disappointed with the color accuracy. Maybe the LG needed more break-in time but it made skin tones too orange. I definitely prefer the larger 85-inch Sony/Samsung to the smaller 77-inch LG C2 OLED. The OLED is rated higher but a larger screen is simply more immersive. There was the 83-inch LG C2 for the best of both worlds (OLED and large size), but it was more than we wanted to spend on a TV.

If you're ever stuck deciding between a larger TV or a smaller one with better image quality, with both being around the same budget, go with the bigger screen. Nobody ever regrets going bigger, it's more common to regret getting the smaller size.

Terrible advice. A better image is far more immersive than just size. If my choices were something huge like this, or even a TV as small as a 42" OLED, I'd take the OLED, hands down. Picture quality is the most important thing. A friend of mine has an 83" Samsung Crystal piece of crap and the image is distractingly bad. I'm not the slightest bit immersed, since the image is so janky.

Um he wasn't comparing crap tvs. Sony x90k is more than decent and I'd get an 85" 90k over 77 OLED. I simply don't care for OLED. Hyped. I have x95k 85 (replaced QN95B) C2 and C1, and I'd choose either mini led any day over the c's
