Great price! Wish the keyboard was backlit though
The Inspiron 3535 and its sister model 3520 are volume cheap / entry level consumer computers. Build quality is commensurate with a cheap consumer computer.

Wanted a laptop for my 8 year old, but wanted it make sure it would last a few years. Seems like a good deal to me, anyone have any opinions or suggestions? He will mostly use it for school and learning to program. If any games they will be light and nothing intensive

If this has the same type of hinge anchors as Inspiron 3520, I would be worried about sturdiness of this laptop: https://www.reddit.com/r/Dell/s/CQCcFHN472

Based on the comments, it sounds like Dell had bad hinge designs for years.

You're not really taking into account how much windows 11 uses. Add in an antivirus and a handful of browser tabs on something like Chrome and you'll be chugging along at 70-85% ram usage just on those alone. 8GB isn't enough for even basic browsing these days if you don't close extra tabs often.

People are still using third party antivirus software?
