It's a chromebook, an educational one, for $149.
I think the ram is the limiting factor on most Chromebooks...at least in my experience. This deal is pretty slick.
8 GB 11 inch chromebook are rarely ever sold in the US thru regular retail channels. This is a great buy for anyone looking for that size.

Weaker CPU with 8gb or more powerful CPU and 4gb (lenovo 3) depends on what you plan to do. If you are doing alot of video meetings, the higher cpu will probably provide a smoother experience. If you are browsing w many tabs or plan to use linux apps like light coding, the 8gb will go further.

This Chromebook is very solid. This Celeron is very fast faster than an 8 gen I5 generally.

8GB DDR is fantastic for this price.

My Celeron 4020 with only 4 GB worked very well. It just was not quite enough DDR.

New this is a great deal adults or students should be happy with this.

I guess you meant a 7th gen? 8th gen had 4c/8t and some 7th gen were 2c/4t. Boost/base clocks of 8th gen i5 were higher than this cpu too.

Dumb question. Would this be any good for streaming from say utube or other streaming sites?

What's really needed most for streaming? Fast internet? Memory? CPU?
4GB struggles with 9 tabs. Harder to run more than one app. 8GB solves that
These are made for zoom and such if 768p is sufficient for your needs.

I should have mentioned that it would be output to TV via HDMI. Not sure if that makes difference.

Another question, if this can only do 1366x768 what would it be able to output to 1080i or 1080p?

He just needs it occasionally to watch some races & Dale Earnhart show on utube

Looks like you can flash the bios on these if you dont like ChromeOS. I found that Linux (Manjaro specifically) works way better than Windows. If you need something to just browse the web, stream, or type then this is a good deal.

More useful than an iPad. Solid deal with Android and Linux support through Jun 2031. Full keyboard and USI stylus.

Silly question but would this make a decent e-reader? I need something that can use both the Kindle and Kobo apps.

input. I'd imagine you'd want to output your DVR to USB for this to handle your usecase

Wouldnt this plus SpaceDesk or a similar tool be better than a nexdock?

I was looking for a tablet or something like this or nexdock to interact with my mini pc. Started with an old galaxy phone and shifted to my zfold. Works pretty good on zfold but run into issues when using multiple monitors and really need to utilize mouse, keyboard and keyboard shortcuts.

1080p at 60hz would be no problem you could even do 4k @30hz.

The camera is 768p so that is the max unless you installed another camera.
