Absolutely beast of a laptop spec wise. Only thing needs to be seen is the thermal capability of the chassis. If it can cool the CPU efficiently, this will not only perform better but also give excellent battery life.

Edit: https://www.notebookcheck.net/MSI...587.0.html

The review showed excellent battery life with improvement in iGPU but no noticeable CPU performance.

Core Ultra series or Meteor Lake is not designed for bringing higher performance over 13th Gen Raptor lake but designed to be much efficient and provide similar performance at lower power, along with a new iGPU matching AMD's RDNA 3 based integrated graphics. More importantly, it provides better Power vs performance curve like AMD whereas 12th and 13th gen couldn't do that. Their performance decreases sharply if you go lower than certain powerlimit rather than scaling linearly.

Isn't this deal bad? minus the 2TB SSD, ASUS is offering the same spec wise but for 200 dollars more you can get a 120 hz OLED display but with a 1 TB drive only

The costco xmas daily deal on the hp 7840u 120hz oled for $600 makes this look silly. Cpu/igpu pretty even or in amd favor per watt. Ya..16/1 tb...but 800 more? Hahhaa...

The whole selling point of the new prestige is the OLED panel. Remove it and you have just another bland core ultra laptop.

Need some advice. This one is lower priced than the 13700h one [costco.com] also at Costco. The only difference that matter to me are the CPU and this one has faster 6400MHz RAM vs 4800MHz of the other one. The 1TB SSD difference doesn't really move the needle for my use case.

In terms of pure productivity use, which one would be faster? Not really concerned about battery life. Appreciate it.

That one will have slightly better CPU performance, but far worse GPU performance, far worse battery life, worse wifi (assuming you get a Wifi 7 router at some point), no NPU for AI acceleration.

Just get the one in the OP. Its a better product in nearly every way but very very slightly behind in CPU performance.

Thank you. Does mobo bios updates and other driver updates have the possibility of improving the 155h performance vs the 13700h down the road?

We've already seen a few firmware updates increase the Core Ultra performance since launch, since its a radical new design for Intel. I wouldnt expect more than like 5% more performance eeked out of the CPU, however the GPU architecture they use for the 155H has had significant performance improvements over the last year and will continue to improve.

The 155H is definitely the way to go. The 13700h laptop you listed should be cheaper, it makes no sense being the same price.

1100 minutes on Wifi is really good. Plus this laptop has been desgned well and so should operate cool on day to day tasks. Should be very good day 2 day tasks like for work. 32GB and 2TB are excellent and I think there are 2 M.2 slots and so you can upgrade to 4 or 8 or even more in future if required.
