Why would you buy laundry pods over liquid? Seems like a gimmick to me.

This here is like $0.08-$0.15 cents a load, depending on how much you use, the pods are $0.23 each pod.

The real gimmick is where these companies make HUGE bottles, making someone think they're getting such a great deal when, in fact, they are actually getting mostly water. Also, you can NOT compare Arm & Hammer to Persil.

Do any of you use these pods in front loader washers? I just got a front loader and I've been avoiding pods only because I do not know whether these open up and dispense detergent at the right time. My washer has a place for liquid soap called "prewash" and "main" wash which leads me to wonder if I used these, they'd work for the "prewash" only or something.

What are you even talking about, dude? Sure from an environmental and general efficiency perspective, transporting liquid sucks, but these pods are a horrendous value from a financial point of view. We should ideally all be using powder detergent. Me, personally, I make my own powder detergent, but unless things have changed drastically, you can still get 11-15 cent/load liquid tide on sale if you're keeping an eye open. To say liquid is a gimmick when the value is way better than pods, I dunno it sounds like you're just trying to make excuses for you getting a bad deal.
