You're coming at this from the "it's cheap, of course it isn't waterproof" perspective. Many of us will be thinking "it's a kids electronic watch, of course it would be waterproof, right?"
Oneplus used to get around that with waterproofing phones by not sending it for official ratings but still adding the extra adhesive.

Comes with camera and voice recorder. I suppose I can put custom images in? Would be even nice if they can be hacked into a real smart watch though.

But if they can get it on shelves a couple months sooner and then just settle for scraps somewhere down the road in a class action lawsuit, I'm sure it justifies the cost.
