Being a kids toy watch is exactly why a parent would ask if it is waterproof.

You're coming at this from the "it's cheap, of course it isn't waterproof" perspective. Many of us will be thinking "it's a kids electronic watch, of course it would be waterproof, right?"

It's actually not expensive, it's the actual testing for the IP rating that's expensive.

Oneplus used to get around that with waterproofing phones by not sending it for official ratings but still adding the extra adhesive.

Cost is minimal when not going for certification

I got one of these and I'm impressed with the amount of features it has for this price. Its a very good deal at this price.
