Looks like Menards is clearing out this 2nd gen saw. This is selling most places north of $600.

The 2nd gen is distinct from the 1st with a shadow cut line and fence extensions.

Reviews are generally favorable.

Shipping was only $25 for me.

You're right, I just logged out and changed to 44011 and I see shipping and additional $10 off clearance price. But still won't ship to me once I change back.

Good deal for those who can get it.

Want to get rid of my dewalt 779 because of depth- can anyone comment on how accurate this is when fully extended? My dewalt has some play in it that I learned to compensate for, if it's near the same then this will be an upgrade in my book.

edit: lowe's price matched easily with free shipping (couldn't combine eith other promos/offers). guess I got a new toy coming now. Menard shipping was $57 to new york FYI.

Reports are at full extension that deflection can be quite significant up to 1/4 — Bosch glide is the better implementation of this mechanism.

That's actually pretty close to what I was dealing with in my dewalt - i did some more digging after I bought it and from what others are describing, it may be just as easy to account for. Guess I'll find out for myself in a week! Thanks for the feedback.

I've been wanting the bosch (or a makita), but haven't been able to find a solid deal on either.

I looked at the 10" Delta Cruzer display model about two weeks ago. You would really have push real hard sideways to get that much deflection. A Skil 10" miter saw was sitting right next to it, and I thought the Skil had slightly more deflection.

Menards lowered the price another $30 on both the 12" and 10" Delta miter saws. Online store inventory numbers are going down fast. $370 and $270, at a no rebate price.

Ive been eyeing this for a few weeks and the 10" version is dwindling . I purchased a m18 framing nail gun months ago and was offered a 12" version of this saw in trade (new in box). Very tempted to , I do think Id get more use out of the miter saw than than nail gun.

Menards still has some of these 12" miter saws and now the 11% rebate is back. With rebate price is $330.

Bought this today at clearance proce of 369.99 at my local store. The 11% rebate is roughly 41 so I'll be able to buy a nice 60 tooth blade in a month now too.

The deflection issue is exaggerated and promoted by the influencer crowd online. Ask someone who's used the saw and they'll tell you (like the poster above re: Dewalt) that all these saws have a certain amount of deflection at full extension. You can always avoid that by using a table saw for wider cross cuts.
