Good deal. I bought a spare last time it was on sale even though there's nothing wrong with my 4yo AS10. It's a great, reliable machine.

What has to be on the prescription/how should it be worded? I have an autoset machine that is about 10 years old. I would like to upgrade but not sure my current primary care would write it because he does not understand that an autoset does not to be set manually and thinks I need another sleep study. My last primary care just wrote "CPAP machine" on a script pad and I bought it online wiith that. I do have another doc that I think might write it for me but I need to find out if what I had last time will still work

Here's a sample script that your doctor can copy off of https://www.integratedhc.com/uplo...0(002).pdf

My doctor has ordered a cpap for me. Would this one be covered by the insurance as well? Is is a better option or should I stick to whatever the sleep med center will order for me?

I'm just suspicious of overly inflated prices for medical devices acquired thru my doctor.

First time using a cpap ever.

Personal experience not judging. My pulmonologist recommended I loose some weight and stop drinking. Weaned me off the Cpap.
You have an incredibly dumb doctor if that was not followed up with a sleep test to confirm you actually don't need the cpap anymore.

Are there ever any deals for the mini? Looking for something travel friendly.
I've never seen any decent deals on the mini, but this is much smaller than you might expect. Here is a link to a site with some photos of the unit in its carrying case https://cpapx.com/products/travel...ine-resmed

I hadn't thought of that, great idea, I will give it a try, thanks!

When I first started CPAP I had EPR turned up to the highest setting (3) for comfort, but that caused lots of central events. I lowered it to 1 and that helped. Now I have turned it off completely and that seems to have helped even more.

Almost all of my apneas are central, and it is sort of managed by CPAP/APAP, but I still wake up a lot of days with AHI in the 20's. My plan is to try VAuto next, and if that does not work move on to BiLevel with a backup rate, and if that fails I will probably end up with ASV.

But the VAuto and BiLevel machines are very expensive and buying them just to test out my theory would be rather expensive. Better to test it with a jailbreak first and then be able to go fight for my best solution with the doctor and insurance.
It's not necessarily true that EPR causes central event. You should see a real sleep doctor. Doing it by yourself causes harms more than benefits.

My mom uses a Phillips one provided by local supply place. I've read these are much better. Her routine supplies (masks, tubes, etc.) are provided by the local place and covered by Medicare. Would she be able to get the supplies covered for this? Thanks.

I personally think there is much more to it. I was diagnosed with fairly bad apnea and I was a healthy weight. 10 years later I've gained weight and it hasn't really affected it much. For me it came after I had a really bad sickness that put me on my ass for like a week. I had my tonsils out when I was a kid

I am tempted to buy one of these as a spare so I can jailbreak by first unit using AirBreak (site here [airbreak.dev]). I get a lot of CAs and will probably need a bilevel at some point.
Although the modes unlock and display, are they fully operational? Or do you need to load Aircurce firmware onto the Airsense. There's not a lot of information beyond proof of concept.

Should be able to switch supplies to match a different machine. Might have to wait up to 90 days depending upon what she last received and when. This comes with what is needed to start other than a mask.

Just a general question, not sure if I will get burned for this. My memory has been gradually getting worse and my doctor thinks it's sleep apnea. I was prescribed a CPAP. Have any of you experienced memory issues due to sleep apnea and have seen improvement with successful use of the CPAP?
