You get what you pay for.

I have these from a previous sale.

The handles and shaft have WAY too much give/bend with them. They're rough and rather unfinished. The tips are poorly ground, especially the 90 degree one. And they rust stupidly easy, sitting next to other stuff that doesn't have a speck of rust on them.

Shoddy is the best word for them. They make Harbor Freight's discount line seem high end. I mean, at least these are cheap. They -probably- will be fine for lighter duty tasks, and if you lose them, you're not out that much.

But you buy cheap, you buy twice.

I also had a 10% coupon, bringing it down to $11.47.

I got this same price on 5/11/22. I wouldn't say I've used them a ton but they've been great when needed!

Edit: I see these getting some flak from others. These things aren't part of my day to day - I only got them because sometimes you really just need a bit more reach and for $12 it was worth it for me.

I don't own this set but an extra extra long one saved me when a metal button clogged my washing machine drain line and I had to pull it out with an 18" long set with double mechanisms! It was a lifesaver. Not saying to buy this but just an ancillary comment. Smilie

I have an older cheap Pittsburgh set and a much better quality (but much more expensive) blue handled Crescent X2 set. There is a limited time these are the better or the best tool for the task at hand but when it is, they are great to have. Overall, gripping is fine but twisting with them is not ideal.

What brand do you recommend? I got some Irwin adjustable pliers(?) as a gift and they seem pretty nice

Milwaukee, Crescent, and Knipex make some solid options. But those are FAR more expensive than this option.
