I think the word clearance is overused and overabused. I think safer way to say would be a very good sale price... Whether something is clearance or not, should never matter, IMO
It probably has to do with a marketplace that is saturated with UST and the word is out that you can get a 98"-100" direct view TV for $3000.

Would buy Hisense 100" U8K mini LED over this projector by spending extra $1000.

Yes. I am waiting for this to be available again at this price.

There is TCL available at BB for 2500 as well. But the hisense TV is much better.

One thing that holds me back are the TV nearing 100" at a reasonable price. My guess is OLED 100" in $2500 in less than 2 years.
Zero chance, you'll be lucky to see 83" OLED's at this price in 2 years. If the 98" OLED's hit $10,000 in two years that would be great progress given the quality and current pricing.

The large TV segment is destined to be dominated by MiniLED in the short term and possibly even long term. Hopefully, the competition will force LG/Samsung can get their 80"+ OLEDs to come down in price sooner. I'd love to see a 100" OLED for $5000 in the next 5 years.

I think that's a bit optimistic but 98" is the new standard for living room TV's, people just don't know it yet.

Don't believe the OLED hype. Good FALD sets are very, very good.

I'm not sure if there will be any real expansion of OLED manufacturing. From what I gather online you can get one OLED 97" out a of a 'mother glass' sheet plus a few smaller ones. I think there are many more new 'mother glass' production lines for conventional LED (VA/IPS) that are larger, so the price of these 98"-100" set has dropped.

Something to keep in mind is that TV size manufacturing profiency does not scale linearly. It's a lot easier to make a 55" TV panel vs a 85" TV panel in terms of meeting some level of quality standard (dead pixels, etc.). I imagine OLED is still expensive than LED displays today because OLED is still more involved to manufacture.

Right now top tier OLED's in the 2500 range are 65-77". It's been about this price for the last couple years, and it took years and years before that to get those under 3k. I doubt you'll see an 100" OLED display in 2 years.. but even if you do.. it for sure as hell will not be 2500, even taking into account Moore's law (which is basically null at this point).

Would you be able to project 100" of pr0n at your neighbor's house that you don't like? Asking for a friend.
