Brand new, not a refurb - and ultra portable. It's not going to set any land speed scooter records, but under $200 for a new Segway that is truly portable and can hold riders up to 220 lbs, seems like a deal to me. Believe it or not, but Segway.com is actually still selling this scooter for about $800. [segway.com]
  • Segway Ninebot AirT15 boasts 250W powerful motor, with a maximum speed of 12.4 mph, travel up to 7.5 miles and accommodate a max load of 220 lbs (100kg). *Factors affecting range (including but not limited to): speed, frequency of stops, temperature, etc.
  • Lightweight & Portable: With a total weight of 23.2 lbs and the one-sec folding system, the Segway Ninebot Air T15 KickScooter can be carried with one hand. Easy to fold and store in a car or on public transport, making it a perfect travel companion.
  • Comfortable & safe Riding: The body of the Air T15 is made with aluminum-magnesium alloy to bring a lighter and more reliable performance, ergonomically designed for your comfort. Electronic brakes and rear fender brakes bring you double riding safety.
  • Superior Technology: With innovative regenerative braking system, Air T15 wheels are able to transform the energy into power and store it in battery pack. App with Bluetooth connectivity, allowing you to customize LED ambient light colors and more.

I got this last year and for what it is, it's pretty decent especially at this price.

Damn, $180 brand new when Segway is still selling them for $800 and the deal gets -2 votes? I mean, even if you don't love the scooter, personally, the overall reviews are good and this has to be one of the lowest prices ever.

Crazy…
Hard to believe they could sell something with these specs for anywhere near $800. 7 miles of range is pretty terrible.

I don't disagree that $800 is too much for this scooter, but the point was that it's not just some made up price -- that's the actual price on Segway's website. Segway does sell a lot of scooters, direct, from their website. This scooter is designed to be extra light (using an aluminum magnesium frame, which is clearly more expensive than a typical steel frame). It's maybe something you would bring with you in your car/SUV or a teenager might have on a college campus - that's mostly flat. The design would make it easy to lock up, and a 5 - 7 mile range would be more than enough for most college campuses.

Regardless, $180 for brand new is the best price I've ever seen on this. And if you don't want to TU the deal for whatever reason, that's more than fine... but I don't get the TD's. It's still the best price ever, and Segway is a good scooter brand... so all of the TD's just seem ridiculous.

Logging on for the first time in forever for this one -
I bought this from Woot last year, same condition, bit more expensive. This was my dream scooter since it fit everything I was looking for, came with a stand, was easy to fold down for storage etc.

It never turned on.
Looked into it a bit further - essentially these models if they sit for too long (like I think these ones have) their battery will not kick up and you'll have to return it.

I bought one of these on release several years ago, I think it was $500-600 for the first adopters.

The scooter itself is very good looking - friends frequently commented on how futuristic it looked, "a tesla scooter" kind of vibe. It also folds down well which makes it easier to carry.

Other than that, I have nothing good to say. The "charging dock" they give you is literally made of styrofoam, it's basically just the insert in the box to keep the unit from being damaged during shipping. The scooter itself sits way too low to the ground because of the small wheels, so you end up feeling every single pothole/crack/etc. and you really need to avoid the deep ones because it will knock you off balance and damage the scooter. You will probably never hit the top speed it mentions if you are >150lbs.

I ended up returning mine after a few weeks and getting a crappy $200 scooter from Hover-1 - even that worked much better and felt more sturdy on the road. At $500, I would never recommend this. At $180, it is more interesting - maybe give it a shot if it will be used by someone pretty light and in an area with good roads/sidewalks so you don't have the pothole issue.

It kind of does seem like a made up price though when on Amazon and Walmart it's $200. So really not much of a deal to save $20. Segway can display whatever they want when it comes to price. But if people ain't paying $800 for it then it ain't worth $800.

A couple things I think you're missing here. First of all, Amazon owns Woot. So rather than telling me Amazon (the owner of Woot) is close to the same price, why don't you tell me the lowest price in history on this scooter on the Camel - how about that? Is this not the lowest price? Also, the guy above says he paid about $600 for this scooter - and it has only been out for a few years.

I feel like I'm being asked to defend $800. No, I'd never pay $800 for this, but Segway is selling it on their website for $800. Do you really believe Segway hasn't sold ANY of these scooters to some sucker for $800? I bet they sold more than a few for $800. So, if this is a deal, then just say it's a deal. If you hate Segway or you hate me, then fine, but it's still a deal. I feel like I'm being accused of making up a fake deal... sheesh.

Anyone know Woot's return policy on this? Based on recent reviews it looks like there's an 80% chance that your scooter's battery will be dead-on-arrival. I'm not finding any return info on the product page.

Refurb ES2 over at segway for $199 is a better deal - isn't it? https://slickdeals.net/f/17216251-segway-ninebot-kickscooter-refurb-f35-300-f30-220-es2-200-es1l-165...
I think the main (if not only) attraction to the T15 is how small the footprint is when folded up. It can easily fit on trains & buses. Otherwise the ES2 is a much better scooter.

And that 7mile range was likely with them testing it using Peter Dinklage going down hill with a tail wind.
