This is what ruins generous return policies for the rest of us for legitimate returns.
With people doing things like this, and worse, they are forced to tighten up their return policies.
Sperry's laces are threaded through the entire upper of the shoe (boat shoes, so the leather laces go through the upper portion of the heel, back around, then to the typical "lace" area). It would've had to take to a professional and it would've been a $60 fix according to their quote. Not something that can be done just sitting on the couch one night.
Also, not 100% the point of the post. I was pointing out they have a great return policy and back the products. My one return of shoes over the course of ~15 years buying shoes from them (including this deal) barely makes me an "abuser" of the return policy.

Ok, I didn't know all that, my apologies. That was a totally legit return!
Not you, but I know from slickdeals (and elsewhere) that many others are abusive of retailers, and that's so frustrating, especially when it's directed at the good retailers with great warranties, generous return policies, etc.
Knowing he great return policy of REI and Zappos, I will be much more likely to purchase items from them in the future even if they are a little more expensive. I knew about REI but I didn't know about the great Zappos return policy although I knew Zappos had good customer service.
I appreciate your advisory!
Happy Wednesday!
Also Hoka: expensive, wear out easily within 6 months, and ugliest colors imaginable.
Still totally worth it to be able to be active with multi-year chronic plantar fasciitis.
I swapped mine and got a $20 off coupon. Because I spent $100 on the next pair. But technically I exchanged them. You can't lose with the rei membership.
Same hoka quality is crap.

I have however, found a similar model to the Hoka Bondi and am very impressed with the quality. It's the New Balance 'More' model. I forget what version, like the v4/v5 or something, one of the newer ones, but it is EXACTLY like the OLD super cushioned long lasting Bondi's of the past.
What do you recommend as an alternative?
I have to slow down by around 30 seconds per mile on my slow runs as well, due to the heft and having to fight against the shoe. I've also fallen four times in the last 2 years, 2 with these and twice with the Saucony shift 2 (similar, heavy, support shoe.)
This is just my PERSONAL opinion. Others may love them, maybe I'm falling because I need to hit the gym and do some leg training 😂 Absolutely love my Hoka slides but heavy shoes aren't for me
Thank you. Having a tough time finding heal toe drop
