Good deal on the XM5's refurbished. I was tempted to buy these, myself, but I already have so many pairs of earbuds.

That's nice. Did they downgrade the firmware though? I believe it was 1.5 version update which caused it. It's possible though going to the latest one might fix the issue as well.
I can't explain how these cheap-feeling (the silicone is thin) sleeves make such a difference, but they improve clarity in the highs and the sound stage is more natural and expansive. The bass is a touch improved too.

Any Over ear wired headphones that are sale yall would recommend that I could listen at home on my record player? I'm living with brother and sister in law currently so not able to blast my KEF speakers

I am a little concerned about that too. Time will tell. But the sound improvement is so noticeable that whatever the consequence im willing to live with it. By the way many reviews I read about the JVC Spiral Dot said they tried all manner of other tip sleeves and still found these to be best.

For my issues, the battery on both buds drained quickly. So I filed the claim. after they received it and looked at it (not sure how), it emailed me and said:
Thanks so much for your patience. After a close inspection of your item, we've determined that a repair is not possible.
A reimbursement for your item will be sent to you by check. Please allow 7-10 business days for checks and American Express Gift Cards to arrive. For all other payment types, allow 2-3 business days. Please note that your item will not be returned to you.
i got the check, not AMEX GC.
