The timing was off between the two sites -- the main one went live with the "click to order" button -- which then took you to the new site which wasn't ready yet and just gave a "give me your email" box.
After some reloads, the new site finally went live. I then put it in my cart immediately, of course, and it was still sold out before anything happened.
But my point is: early access to the URL didn't really matter. Because it didn't go "live" to order until after normal people were being redirected there.

then it refreshed saying sold out a minute later. Zero chance everyone bought their passes and finished the purchase process at 12:01.
I still had the url and kept loading it for a while just in case it let me through. It didn't. About 10 mins later they deleted my cart.
