I was wondering about this as well and tossed up this spreadsheet (the info on the home depot images is actually not 100% correct so I went direct to the Milwaukee site to pull the info) https://docs.google.com/spreadshe...sp=sharing

If you don't want to click on the spreadsheet the difference is the following for the 90 piece (0 indicates missing from this kit compared to the 100, - means less, + means more):
0 slotted #12
-1 phillips p2 2"
+4 phillips p2 1"
+1 phillips p2 2"
0 square sq1 2"
+2 square sq2 1"
-2 square sq2 2"
0 square sq3 2"
0 torx t10 2"
0 torx t15 2"
+2 torx t20 1"
-3 torx t20 2"
+2 torx t25 1"
-2 torx t25 2"
0 torx t27 2"
+2 torx t40 1" (note: 100 piece kit does not have this at all)
0 p2/sl#10
0 t20/t25

Also interesting: The 90pc set is actually 91 pieces if you count the low profile kit (which, let's be real, is what everyone is really buying these for - retail on it is 29.97 so you're just getting 90 bits for 10 bucks which is a great deal) whereas the 100 piece includes the case in the total count.

I like my bits organized a lot better than this. I like cases that hold each bit in an individual slot. I don't want to be digging around to find the right size torx bit when I am working on something.

The newer bit cases they have are pretty nice. I got 3-4 of them last year and made 'one bit case to rule them all', including a full spread of drill bits and a few other specialty bits like chamfers and countersink bits.

If I got one of these, I'd just use the packout case for assorted fasteners and work some of the bits into the rest of my smaller cases.

I think this is a better deal than the 100-piece that keeps popping up for $48/49. Right? I compared the listing to see what the difference is and it looks like the 100 piece just includes 3 more double-ended bits, and an additional 3.5" bit (the rest is more of the same bits). Someone correct me if I am wrong though.

my thoughts exactly. for construction/general contractors/carpentry i guess it doesn't matter. they just have 40x of SQ2, Philips 2, torx 20 and 25. and basically nothing else. but i do tech related crap which forces me to keep 12 different sizes of hex bits (mix metric and imperial). 5 different torx, 10 different security torx, etc. no organizer=no deal for me.

but, as stated before, this is more than enough for some trades.

it's not finished yet. i still have some stuff i have to move into here that will go on the right. i ordered a custom tray to use in place of the milwaukee tubs you see there.

Nice. My main bit case (pictured) covers most stuff I normally do, but I do have a couple auxiliary cases for less commonly used drills/bits.. in addition to the bits I keep onboard my impacts/drills themselves with custom bit holders.

Might not be a bad idea to keep some loctite in there too if you don't have some already.

Any recommendations for a driver & drill bit combo? There are so many Milwaukee variations…

M12 Fuel is more than enough for what the average homeowner tackles.

I think the bits are all the same in each little box, or two distinct bits. No digging around required, and in fact quicker to get back to work compared to their general very snug fit in individual slots.
