AI is officially the new scam. well even bigger now, since theyve been trying to push it for yrs now.

anyways as i wrote elsewhere 2 things stand out to me on these. good, flat display even on the Ultra (why didnt one plus do this on the 12??? Cus you know OP will copy flat next time). Bad, lackluster wired charging speeds, 45w on the plus/ultra and only 25 on the regular. op has them beat easily here.

i wonder if the slow charging is a battery longevity thing. my 8t is 65w and the battery is still holding up well after 2 plus yrs though.

Edit: price is nominally 1419 on the 512GB Ultra? Yikes.

See they are budging towards 512 storage instead of 256 as the default now. Dont personally care but for the price they certainly should. probably 256 more storage cost them about a dollar extra.

The agent confirmed the $50 is added to the pre-order credit. In my case that was $75 total for the S24

The only reason I got Ultra in the past over the smaller versions was for the periscope optical zoom.
But S24 only has 5x instead of past versions' 10x?

I don't know the TIV for a 6a is $200. That seems reasonable

The days of great Trade-in deals on release are gone. Very likely the carriers complaint about it to Samsung and since the S22 they stopped giving actual good deals on release for those that don't want to be tied for 2 years to a carrier. Don't blame them though, very likely Samsung is making more profits this way as the carriers must be paying them up front for the devices.

I guess I will wait 6 months or so for a better trade-in deal without 2 years agreements, or bill credits.

So we are going from smartphones to AI phones. What's the difference? 🙃
The difference is that AI is the new bullshit buzzword to distract from inflation.

was curious about this knowing the launch event was a few months away, so back in october i checked the trade in value for my s21. they were giving me a whopping 400 bucks for a 256gb s21, bringing an s23 down to 450 at the time i think. not bad! check the same thing today, aaaaaaaaaand 200 bucks for it now. i'm all set.

That is bill credits though no?
yeah, but i was able to trade in my old note10 for $1000 off the fold5, and then they gave me another $250 for some reason. Ended up being around $500 across 3 years in bill credits + tax.

I don't need the S24U, but I priced it out with my old S22U for trade in:

Total trade-in price - $650.00

Employee Offers - $121.81

$100 Instant Samsung Credit

Instant Savings - $120.00

Total $528.18
