ACCESSORY CREDITS: Do I have to use the pre-order credit (for example, $150 at the time of phone purchase)? Short answer: If Samsung is doing what it has done in the past, no. As you're going through the checkout process, choose skip add-ons. You will see the credit in your cart. In the past, according to the Samsung invoice/order page, "Use your redemption at the time of preorder, or redemption details will be emailed within 14 days after your order is delivered. 90 days to redeem." **Double-check to see if this is still true for the S24**
Note: In the past, you had to skip add-ons entirely in order to receive the full credit later on. If you have a $150 credit sitting there and you add a $50 accessory to your cart you will get it for free but you will not get the extra $100 later on.

You will send in the phone only (no boxes, chargers, SIMs, cases, etc.). Phone must be factory reset and have no passwords or locks. thats every year for some yrs now. heck to me it seems a bit more iterative than the past as it least they have the new ai nonsense to push this time even if it is bs. and the flat display. the usual brightness bump. seems like the new gloss resistant (?) gorilla glass armor coating on the ultra could be a really significant thing too based on some videos, it's much less reflective and easier to view outdoors than the 23, but that would require hands on use to say.
but yay, this is just that smartphones got boring at least 5 yrs ago. all the low hanging fruit of improvements (such as larger and larger displays and smaller and smaller bezels) got snatched up yrs ago. thats why i still keep my ancient 8t, it's still smooth, fast with 12gb ram,
and works great.
stop and think how hard it must be to bring out a brand new phone every 12 months and bring anything interesting. like right now samsung is hard at work on the s28 for release in 4 years, the s27, and so on. they have to be way ahead by the time one actually comes out.
In the automotive world there is a saying "There's no replacement for more displacement. "
Also as an s23 ultra owner, the upgrade price is way too expensive. On the plus side you don't have to do bill payments like you did last year with AT&T Verizon and T-Mobile, but the trade-in value at 750 plus the price increase makes it still a $530 upgrade plus they charge tax on the full amount. It's a lot of money for basically AI enhancements that are probably gimmicky and nobody will use. It felt like 80% of the introduction video presentation was all about AI... But all of that stuff can be done with various apps anyway.
