How do you get this to work if you only keep it for 4 months?
Thought it's a 24 Month Bill credit?

"Get reimbursed over 24 months
Receive $27.09 off each bill for 24 months
The credit is tied to the person who activated the device"

Sorry for the ignorance but I'm new to Google Fi deals!

What did they tell you? Did you end up returning the phone?
I end up returning the phone.

The rep regurgitated the same spiel: The phone was activated on a new account, instead of the current account. I showed that I activated it on the current account and they said I didn't. I said if it wasn't activated on my current account, what other account was it activated on. They had no answer and just said sorry.

How do you re-activate?

can you detail what exactly happened? what was reason given for promo not applied? You had an active Fi account at time of ordering promo phone? Promo can not be applied for various reasons.
I started a new Fi account and then ordered the S23U. Order got shipped out pretty fast, so I activated the SIM card I got from Fi on the S23U. I ran into the issue where the promo tracker showed that I purchased S23U and got the instant FI rebate, but it stated "A new fi member activated the device." Therefore, I couldn't keep the Fi rebate even though I activated it on the correct Fi account. It was weird and the reps were no help in getting the issue rectified.

Can someone help explain how the esim works. My boss has a fi account. If I get him to buy for me does he actually have to use the S24 for the 120 days or can he somehow continue to use his current phone but still meet the requirements?

so as far as the promo is concerned,

interesting.. so you had all the promo marks ticked indicating completed promo successfully and then this happened? you were able to return the phone for full refund after the promo period (at least 60 days)? How "current" was your account at time of order?

The promo tracker told me what date I had to activate on the current account, so I returned it before that date and the promo tracker disappeared after the return was processed.

I was probably only a current account for a day. Right now, I am waiting for a couple days before pre-ordering the S24U.

so you could see the issue right away upon activating the phone and were able to return it during return time period? did you activate service via esim before receiving the S23U? cause if you didnt then service was only activated with the S23U, which is what the tracker showed. thanks for the heads up. i guess i need to keep an eye on the tracker after activating the new phone to see if it has such verbiage. In our case, that should not be an issue as we activated service today via esim, billing has started, and phone wont be activated at least until Feb 1st

I reactivated my account, which i had used for s23 ultra promotion using the esim option.
I see the s24 ultra promotion.
A couple of questions.
1. Once I buy the new s24 ultra, do I have to activate the fi number on it and keep it active for 120 days ? Can I just not keep it active on the current phone that I used to reactivate the service?

2. If I have to keep the service active on s24 ultra for 120 days and do not wish to do that, can I go ahead and cancel the fi service immediately today.
Will I still need to pay the $20 plus taxes as monthly fees for the 1st month?

did you actually have an "active" service via esim before activating the S23U? doesnt seem so as you said you activated the S23U sim card.

So for those of us who partook in the S23 Ultra Google Fi deal, did the four months of service and canceled around June-July 2023 after the 120 days of service, are we able to partake in this S24 Ultra deal in the same way? Sorry if this has been answered already, but I've been out of the loop on this. I did the physical store bought SIM method last year but from what I am reading in this thread, that no longer works?

I bought a FI sim card from Walmart and activated it. When I activated it, the promos switched from new customer with bill credits to existing customer with instant rebate. I ordered the phone with the discount showing, so the life on my account was probably like 24 - 36 hours.

The promo tracker recognized the phone was (falsely) active on another account about 24 hours after I activated it. I checked the promo tracker and then Fi sent me an e-mail saying my promo wasn't going to be kept or whatever.

I'm playing it safe this time and waiting until I'm billed before I sign up for the promo. However, if you check Google Fi reddit, the issue seems to pop up for all sorts of people with various length of long active, re-activated accounts or newly activated accounts. Some people get the issue fixed, and some people end up returning.

Can I join the flexible plan today, then order tomorrow when I qualified as an existing customer?
If not, how many days customer is considered existing?

my understanding:
1) Promo phone needs to be active for 120 days continuously on the account. so, answer is NO
2) No, you can cancel anytime and service charge is prorated per day with Fi

TL;DR: If you have account activated within 180 days, you will get 650 off for 120 day service. On the other hand, 650 off by 24 month credit.

https://support.google.com/fi/thr...erms?hl=en
A new Fi customer is someone who has never had Fi service or someone whose last day of Fi service took place more than 180 days before making a purchase with this promotion.

An existing Fi customer is someone who currently has Fi service or whose last day of Fi service took place within the last 180 days.

important mention for anyone who's rejoining to get the promo.

so it seems a potential issue is that you if return to fi again and see the 650 instant discount promotion, when you activate it you may be perceived as ineligible because your account is too new and your promo will say it got activated by a new user, meaning they'll claw back the rest of the 650. supposedly a guy in a previous thread said your account must be active for 21 days (either in the last month or last 6 months, we are unsure) to get eligibility as an existing user. There was also some talk of needing to join for 21 days before even seeing the offer, but it's a game of telephone at this point.

In short, we need a guinea pig to reactivate an account, get the offer, then try to activate the phone immediately and see if the promotion starts ticking down.
