How do you get this to work if you only keep it for 4 months?
Thought it's a 24 Month Bill credit?

"Get reimbursed over 24 months
Receive $27.09 off each bill for 24 months
The credit is tied to the person who activated the device"

Sorry for the ignorance but I'm new to Google Fi deals!

Just added a line and activated the eSIM. However, I don't see the offer for $650 off. Still the 24 month deal. Not good! Anyone know how long do you need to wait until we see the deal?

Anyone that did the reactivating of an old plan saw the $650 off instantly.

No one that did the reactivation of an old plan that continued to see the $650 over 24 months had it change to be instantly if they waited long enough.

I fall into that second bucket. I "paused" my Google Fi service just now as I couldn't find the cancel option.

Looks like they're treating you as new. This deal is for people with existing Fi service or within the last 180 days (with apparently some fudging). The people who saw a change from no upfront discount to with upfront discount (re)activated their not-so-long-ago service and qualified.

Here are the steps I took as a former Fi customer who got the S23 Ultra deal on Feb 2023.
1) After 120 days, I canceled my Fi service approximately mid June 2023.
2) Signed in to my Fi account today using the same email address I used previously.
3) Selected Flexible plan and Bring Your Own Phone.
4) In the Bring Your Own Phone screen, clicked on the link where it said something like "check your phone for compatibility". I selected my spare unlocked Pixel 7 Pro.
5) Went through and completed the checkout process. It automatically selected eSIM in my case.
6) Installed Google Fi app on my spare unlocked Pixel 7 Pro phone. Upon launching Fi app, it immediately told me that there's a pending eSIM that I can download.
7) Went ahead and downloaded the eSIM and it activated Fi service (calls, text, and data) on my Pixel 7 Pro.
8) Went back to the Fi app and clicked on Store.
9) Selected S24 Ultra 512gb for $650 and completed the checkout process. Total for me was $700 and change after taxes.

Now what I'm not sure of are the next steps when the S24 Ultra arrives. Do I move the activated eSIM from Pixel phone to S24 (and how is this done)? Or do I order a new plan for the S24 and cancel the Pixel plan? Or do I order a physical SIM and move the service from eSIM to that physical SIM and install the physical SIM on the S24? I don't think I would want the eSIM service on the S24 since i plan on using that phone as my main phone with US Mobile. I'd want to use a physical SIM to activate the S24 so that once activated, i can put away that SIM for good. FYI...in the billing page of Fi, it says "Current Fi member activates new device within 30 days of shipment" and "Stay active on Fi for 120 days in a row".
FYI for other folks. I just tried this on an old FI account that I used for a S20 FI deal a few years back but haven't used since. I was unable to replicate the deal. Maybe its only for those with a more recently dormant account from the S23 deal? When I get to Step 9, the FI store only shows the the S24 discount after 24 month bill credits, instead of instant off.

Anyone know if Fi has a grace period for cancelling the plan for a refund so I don't have to pay for a month of unneeded service?

Yeah, sounds like 180 days is not a 'hard' cutoff, but if Fi hasn't been associated with a given Google account for over a year you're not going to see a 'current customer' deal.

Now can I just add user to my account buy the s24 and just activate the s24 on the the other user and still count as i activated the deal?

Cancelling Fi service will get you a prorated refund. It's funny that they prorated down to the number of hours used in the last day. However, because any Data used is billed in the following cycle, it can take up to 2 Billing Cycles to get the refund issued to your credit card.

Quick question - do you know if its risky to port in a number now. I have an active line, and my s24 is ordered but I won't ship for like 2 weeks , so am I safe, or do you think that would risk complications?

I need to port out an ATT number to close line. I am thinking it might be safer to just port it to a US Mobile trial and not risk potential for an issue

This deal requires the S24 to be activated on an existing line, That means the S24's SIM will be pre-assigned with the phone number in service. I don't know if they will use the number active WHEN YOU PLACED THE ORDER or WHEN THE ORDER IS PROCESSED. Also, I don't know if you can port in a number after activation. Best to ask several reps and see what they say.

I'm wondering if I cancel the new service today and reactiviate for a second time tomorrow if Fi will then see me as a current customer due to me having had a few hours of service today... lol.

I was a previous Fi customer who partook in the S23U deal last year and canceled my Fi subscription after the 120 day countdown was complete in late June, so I am outside of the 180 day "recent customer" definition, but activating a new Fi subscription seems to fulfill the requirements of the deal at least, since now I can see the $650 instant discount.
Same boat as you, but IO am only seeing 24-month deal. So frustrating...

From what was said in this post https://slickdeals.net/f/17148301-samsung-galaxy-s23-128gb-299-for-google-fi-new-and-exisitng-customers-256gb-359-99?p=168379252#post168379252 , looks like you can do that. But you'll be paying for two active Fi lines (with maybe some group discount).

The s24 has AI, that requires you to be signed in to Samsung to use. So basically, it is training the ai from you for free and then selling your data. Plus, you may take a photo of yourself in a pool, then I'd guess it wouldn't be crazy to think your pool photo might end up in someone else's ai request for a photo of someone in a pool. Neat!🤣 Same would be the I'm sure for the ai language translations. Read the eula and privacy statements carefully.
yeah people dumb enough to believe you are getting something for free then need to learn
you are the product! I'll stick with my iphone X for now!
