Does anybody know if you can just do this with esim? Like can you activate on your phone with esim, then order the phone with full discount, turn off esim and just keep paying the Google fi for 120 days or do you need to do it with the physical sim activation like last year?

Seeking some advice in regards to s24 base vs +
I currently as using the s22 base which i got through the fi deal in 2022 (thanks SDers)
I love the small size but the battery life is terrible (when I first got it it just could make it through the end of the day, now I find myself charging it at least twice)
I know the s24 base is a larger battery but is 4000mah enough?
The plus seems to be the sweet spot this year with the upgrades and my biggest desire is a day long battery without needing to charge if possible.
What is everyone's thoughts here?

Be aware if you are signing up new to take advantage of this - as soon as you activate, you are liable for the next month bill - $25 for Flexible and more for Unlimited. They bill ahead and the bill will show in your account 2 days after activating. So you may be out that money if you don't get the promo.

I believe this question was answered at least 10 times. One more time: go ahead with the physical sim, activate your account, open the Fi app, activate the esim, cancel physical sim order.
Are you sure you don't want to keep the psim order to use that to activate in the s24 you order and then throw away like last year?

Here are the steps I took as a former Fi customer who got the S23 Ultra deal on Feb 2023.
1) After 120 days, I canceled my Fi service approximately mid June 2023.
2) Signed in to my Fi account today using the same email address I used previously.
3) Selected Flexible plan and Bring Your Own Phone.
4) In the Bring Your Own Phone screen, clicked on the link where it said something like "check your phone for compatibility". I selected my spare unlocked Pixel 7 Pro.
5) Went through and completed the checkout process. It automatically selected eSIM in my case.
6) Installed Google Fi app on my spare unlocked Pixel 7 Pro phone. Upon launching Fi app, it immediately told me that there's a pending eSIM that I can download.
7) Went ahead and downloaded the eSIM and it activated Fi service (calls, text, and data) on my Pixel 7 Pro.
8) Went back to the Fi app and clicked on Store.
9) Selected S24 Ultra 512gb for $650 and completed the checkout process. Total for me was $700 and change after taxes.

Now what I'm not sure of are the next steps when the S24 Ultra arrives. Do I move the activated eSIM from Pixel phone to S24 (and how is this done)? Or do I order a new plan for the S24 and cancel the Pixel plan? Or do I order a physical SIM and move the service from eSIM to that physical SIM and install the physical SIM on the S24? I don't think I would want the eSIM service on the S24 since i plan on using that phone as my main phone with US Mobile. I'd want to use a physical SIM to activate the S24 so that once activated, i can put away that SIM for good. FYI...in the billing page of Fi, it says "Current Fi member activates new device within 30 days of shipment" and "Stay active on Fi for 120 days in a row".
This is what I got after I placed the order. So, I assume that it should transfer the service from the old phone onto the S24.

Not sure yet. I will be canceling mine in a couple of days, will find out. If anyone can confirm, that would be great. I can confirm that I got billed $25 ($5 tax) after 2 days.

Yes, they will issue a prorated refund, after 1-2 billing cycles.

Do a search for "refund" under section Understand Your Final Bills here https://support.google.com/fi/ans...9398?hl=en . I've cancelled and got prorated refund from Fi before.

I purchased this deal and got $650 off but went with the 24 month financing since no interest. After 4 months of the flexible plan, can still cancel the plan and just keep paying for phone? Another question is they may have added the monthly insurance as well, is the mandatory on a financed phone?

Very interesting! Might have to look in to doing this, except they don't have the exclusive color (orange) that I want.. hmm..

Thanks for posting this sir! nod

Which Fi plan do you have? It's been posted before...only Unlimited Plus and Flex plan qualify for this deal.
