How do you get this to work if you only keep it for 4 months?
Thought it's a 24 Month Bill credit?

"Get reimbursed over 24 months
Receive $27.09 off each bill for 24 months
The credit is tied to the person who activated the device"

Sorry for the ignorance but I'm new to Google Fi deals!

I enabled fi service a few days ago with esim and still only see billed credit. Today the bill will be generated and let's see if that gets me as existing customer.

if you get a phone on this deal, you have to sell your old phone somewhere. instead of trying to sell that old phone, i was wondering if its better to trade/upg at Samsung and then sell the new phone.
If you do the Fi deal, you don't HAVE TO sell/trade the old phone. You can keep it and keep using it while selling the new phone. Doing the Samsung deal and trade in your old phone, then you won't have a phone to use if you sell the new phone. If you do the Samsung deal without trading in your old phone, the cost is very high.

thats a diff story. doing this to use new phone. not interested in risking any hiccups by selling Fi phone before 120 days. If for whatever reason Fi needs to verify you via phone/text, you cant put the Fi sim in another phone. good luck dealing with Fi cs then.

I think if you want to upgrade every year to a S ultra phone, doing this deal and selling one year old ultra is the way to go. If you want to switch to ultra then it's better to grab a deal of an old ultra phone e.g. the one I posed couple of months ago https://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/fp/889993. Look for similar deal end of this year on S23U. Given how good it is and no problem with battery, the resell value will be S23U will be higher than S22U.

I didn't say to sell the new Fi phone right away. You sell it after it has met the 120-day requirement. But my main point is that doing the Samsung deal without trading-in is expensive, and doing the Samsung deal with a trade-in then sell the new phone and you won't have any phone left to use.

Mate, we are getting a phone on this deal to use. Question was whether to sell our current phone or trade/upgrade via Samsung, then sell new phone instead. I think I'll do that with my s23, given the $550 trade/12% cb/$75 credit/epp etc.

OK, I understand now. You're planning on doing BOTH Fi and Samsung deals. I mistakenly thought you were comparing the two deals.

Add a data point that does not goes well in the end:

1/17: Activated an old account (last activity was two year ago) with port in number
1/19: Still see 650 off by 24 months credit.
1/20: A bill was generated based on flexible plan. Still only see 650 off by 24 months credit.

Plan to port out by 1/31, no luck to be existing customer.

A logistic issue with inviting someone who is not a friend/family member to join a group is that the group owner is responsible for paying the monthly bill for the group plan, and I think for ordering/paying the phones for group members too. The group owner must be confident that people would pay for their shares.

Well that can be solved with a simple phone call and paying with card and PayPal along with email threads

I just bring that up in case you ask someone to let you join their group and they decline.

If you were a group owner, would you be willing to buy a phone for a stranger with your credit card and hope that person will reimburse you? Even if they offer to let you use their credit card for ordering, I don't think Google will let you use a stranger's card if the billing address is not your address on file with Fi.

I ordered the s24 ultra after reactivating esim in the current phone.
Once I get s24 ultra, I can activate on the Psim. Make sure the fi promo counter has started. Once done, remove the psim and stash it away. Esim will not have be activated on the s24 ultra.

Is it a major risk to sell the s24 ultra before the 120 days are over ?

Once the promo counter is confirmed that it has started, and the psim is put away in a safe place and not used anywhere, will it be OK to not have access to the s24 ultra?

Has anyone done this before ?
