Thank you. I guess I will try to unpause for 24 hours and then attempt to order.

Followed the steps on this thread to finally order with existing customer promo. Total with taxes came out to $711. Delivery date for S24U Violet shows Mar 12-19 but hoping they will deliver it earlier than that. For anyone still trying, here are the steps again. I never had Fi service.
1. Sign up as new customer and activate your line with eSIM. I did this on 1/22.
2. Pre-order the Galaxy phone of your choice with the new customer promo of $650 off in 24 mos. Ordered on 1/22. Cancel this order once it shows up in your Manage Order history.
3. Wait one day. Today, on 1/23 when I am now eligible for the $650 off existing customer promo. My bill is not generated but I was still able to claim the promo and order.

Unfortunately, I am a day or two late as the delivery dates have moved significantly now. S24U Black was showing mid-Feb delivery dates.
thanks. Can I pause the Fi service before I receive the s24? I plan to resume the service and then activate s24

yeah delivery date for Fi is all over the place right now. It will probably change again as we get closer to the official Samsung ship date.
Has anybody found a CB site for Fi? It's really a crime that no CB seems to be available.

Thanks. Just checking in there are any possible data points. In my case, I did not reactivate. I have my fi plan in pause for most of the year. I unpause it when I travel internationally as I find fi service to be best for international coverage.
A month of flexible with 0 data usage is almost $30 for me. So if i pay an extra 1-2 months of service i think this deal is more lukewarm and almost comparable to samsung's trade in
I'd be curious to see your trade-in deal math. When I looked at samsung.com on the release day, trade-in values when buying S24Ultra were significantly more attractive than what was offered with S24/S24+ purchase.

Only 'CB' deals I recall for Fi are AMEX offers from a couple of years ago.

Yeah, wondering if I should order from samsung anyway to hedge.
No luck on CB though for Fi, some amex have an offer for cashback on wireless bill

Google Fi
S24+ $450
Flexible Service + Tax (lets say 5.5 months given March delivery date) $165
Total: 615
Possibly sell my s22 base to third party trade in websites about $200ish

Samsung
S24+ with s22 base trade in and program savings $522.49
CB website about 3%: $15
Total: 507

So almost $100 to get the phone 1.5 months earlier, more color variety and having to find a service to send me phone to

I just looked. $55 EDU discount, and found a portal that offers 10%, up to $50. Total before CB would be $495, assuming $50 CB that's a total of ~$450. Don't know what the retail value of a used S22 is, but if it's really $200 this is not a bad deal at all, especially for someone who wants a color that's exclusive to samsung.com

I would also get $75 accessory credit on samsung as well. I would probably get buds fe and resell for about $50. I could probably get a bit more for the s22 if I chased on ebay but I have having had one bad experience selling my used phone there it makes it less ideal.

The FI deal would be great only if it was truly 120 days, the extra 1.5 month wait really kills it

It's best to ask several Fi reps and see if they give the same answer
I just asked 2 different reps. They said as long as it is not paused when you activate the phone it is ok, but given that OP had his order canceled on pause I am less confident about the answer

For SDers who did the previous pre-order deals, how likely is it that fi will restock on the sold out models?

I was eyeing the 24+ but seems to be sold out now. I wanted to wait a bit instead of paying the extra 2 weeks of service. I guess that wait was not worth it.
They restocked it last year or more appropriately they showed everything to available and let people order and then ship them when they got them. I don't know if they will do the same this year though

According to my Citi double cash card, for last year's FI order the merchant category was electronic store. So if you have setup US Bank Cash plus category you will get 5 percent CB.

So if you setup US Bank Cash plus category as such or use Citi custom cash back, you will get 5 percent CB (or most of it for Citi custom card). That's the merchant category for MasterCard, I'm not sure how Visa does them.
Just checked CustomCash categories:

5% eligible categories: Restaurants, gas stations, grocery stores, select travel, select transit, select streaming services, drugstores, home improvement stores, fitness clubs, live entertainment.

Which one do you expect this purchase to fall into?
