I do not recommend Spectrum Mobile. They are an MVNO on Verizon towers and when the network is congested, you have little to no connection because your priority is so low. There is also no upgrade option for a prioritized connection. I dropped them after 1 month.
I test with the following tiv samsung phones:

A14 $714
A54 $770
S23fe $880
S23+ $994
Trade in my Google Pixel 6A for $757 that I originally got from metro for $50 years ago. Makes this a true slickdeal 🫡

Will wait for few days for reviews to see if the battery life is as good as S23.

The way they are forcing you to activate via eSIM makes me suspect physical SIM card slot is gone for good.
That will make phone useless for few countries

If i wanted to do the trade in, unlock and then cancel service, how much would it cost total?

Here's my math:
Samsung Galaxy S24
$859.00
-$60 by the gig promo

$14/month by the gig plan x ~3 months to be safe and then cancel after unlock = $42
$20 activation fee
-$716 trade in
= $136 total

This seems too good to be true no?

anyone had problem with unlocking from spectrum? i have done several with spectrum. The flip 5 is the only one, that they can't unlock. the "unlock" screen won't pop up for me to enter the "unlock" key. spectrum says it is samsung problem, samsung says it is spectrum problem. So i am a bit nervous on getting another samsung from spectrum. though i had no problem with S23 unlocked

Yeah I had that happen to me but they eventually got it fixed and unlocked my fold 5.

Damn.. This seems to be good for not so good phones. Tried for 21ultra and trade in came up to $875, but that's almost $500 difference for s24 ultra even after trade in. Also tried s21 and that came up to $800, which is good if looking for S24. Also, checked my pixel3a lying around, and it came up to $708. So, probably I could trade in that and maybe flip S24 or use it for less than $150

Wish they did this instore! Store near me saw this and said good luck claiming online trades are never honored!
This is a scare tactic, obviously BS coz they want their store sales numbers to look good. Assurant analyzes your trades for Spectrum (same for Google Fi and I have traded in to Google Fi / Assurant twice now without any problems)

Please tell me how this occurred. I am in the same boat with two fold five phones that spectrum claims are unlocked on their end but they can't figure out why they're not unlocked on my end. They want me to reach out to Samsung, but I have a feeling that will get me nowhere.

I have done it before, 60 days after activation become eligible for unlock (fully paid) and doesn't matter if you change device before that.
