I do not recommend Spectrum Mobile. They are an MVNO on Verizon towers and when the network is congested, you have little to no connection because your priority is so low. There is also no upgrade option for a prioritized connection. I dropped them after 1 month.
I test with the following tiv samsung phones:

A14 $714
A54 $770
S23fe $880
S23+ $994
Trade in my Google Pixel 6A for $757 that I originally got from metro for $50 years ago. Makes this a true slickdeal 🫡

I *guess* this is good if you qualify and plan to buy one. Otherwise it's "get a big discount on a $1k+ device, with trade-in, if you have our subpar internet service."

If spectrum mobile is anything like spectrum trash Internet, no thanks. Bad service, even worse customer service.

Can I buy a phone and activate it and keep it in drawer. Would it be eligible to be unlocked?

but is it 100% compatible? i remember that in the past, phones would work with tmobile but didn't have all the bands so you were limited to lower speeds or something like that...

is there a possibility this could happen with the spectrum version if I try to use it on tmobile?

I've had Verizon, Visible, and now Spectrum and have not had any service related problems. It's probably based more on your specific location.

Shouldn't be a problem to get it unlocked after 60 days as long as activated and device paid off.

Customer service is bad pretty much with any provider and can't compare with FIOS, but service is OK considering free mobile for 12 months and trade-in promotions.

There's another offer that's for 5% off wireless up to $30 back that might stack.

No issue. Pretty much all phones these days work across all networks now.

Not sure why you get the idea that Samsung is a poor mans company. Yes they do have pricey and high end products (not just smart phones)
Everything is going up in price and so are smartphone! Thats all around the world.

very greedy company, sucking money out of people !
$1500 for a phone? wow !!
a few years ago, phones were sold at 600-700 range, now its double the price.
even topline laptops arent this expensive.
Samsung is tapping on to greed and instant gratification.

Anyone know if 60days lock period starts from today when I did online payment or does it start from the time I received the phone/activated? If it's after activation then I would probably delay ordering until jan30 close to ship date.

Swappa takes a commission. Then, you have to adding shipping costs. Then, add in shipping materials. Then, add in the risk of the buyer scamming you.

Not worth it to me.
There are also PayPal fees...

$300 is the conservative, low-end estimate. I've seen the S23 FE unlocked in mint condition sold for over $400 on Swappa over the past couple of weeks. Even with the commission, fees, cost of shipping, etc., you can still turn a bigger profit selling the S23 FE instead of trading it in at Spectrum. Also, you can probably save the S23 FE for trade-in at a much higher value, maybe even $1000, during Black Friday 2024 when phone deals are abundant.

I understand those who don't want to go through the trouble and time, though. Personally, I think trading in is much easier, but at this point in my life, I guess the extra money from selling is worth more than the time I have to spend doing it.

How do you get the free mobile promotion? Is it targeted?

Thanks for the reply!

I will wait and try to get the s24u on release date. my only concern now is the availability of the S24u in-store.on release day. free storage upgrade is nice but I'm ok without it.

someone said on this thread that the promo will stay longer, hopefully we all keep the current TIV and promo when that day comes
What's the advantage of doing it in-store? You'll still get the trade-in credit refunded if you do it online anyway, right?
