I do not recommend Spectrum Mobile. They are an MVNO on Verizon towers and when the network is congested, you have little to no connection because your priority is so low. There is also no upgrade option for a prioritized connection. I dropped them after 1 month.
I test with the following tiv samsung phones:

A14 $714
A54 $770
S23fe $880
S23+ $994
Trade in my Google Pixel 6A for $757 that I originally got from metro for $50 years ago. Makes this a true slickdeal 🫡

Just went to Walmart with the original motorola box and did a return and rebuy. Now the phone shows it will activate on the straight talk site, and also now have a paper receipt which shows the IMEI number on it in case theres any issues with the trade in.
Did you buy the phone online or from the store?

Yes anyone who bought a phone from Walmart.com may be in trouble. The employees did not activate the phones prior to shipping them out so they may be flagged as stolen once assurant receives them.

Check your IMEI here and see if it lets you proceed with activation: https://www.straighttalk.com/activation

If it says your device is not eligible, go to your local Walmart with the original box and order number, and have them return it and repurchase it

I used this model Tracfone Samsung Galaxy A03s, 32GB, Black - Prepaid Smartphone https://www.walmart.com/ip/456429801

I could able to pass thru the IMEI page of Tracfone and it's letting me pick the the plan. Can you confirm if this works to get that tradein otherwise I have to plan for return the spectrum device.

I am still waiting to get my IMEI released. Based on comments here, releasing IMEI should be good enough. No need to activate with a plan.
Do we need to reset the phone as well after imei release? I already send the phone for trad in , its in Transit Frown

The straight talk check imei just goes through prompts that take me to a screen to buy a monthly plan but doesn't tell me anything else. Any other way to check my imei?

Amazing that Walmart issue is noe plaguing another thread. It's been over 2 months since Black Friday, when people were reporting the Pixel 6a phones they bought from there weren't activated.

That is a big freaking problem, and I don't know how it hasn't been fixed or addressed corporate wide by now.
