I do not recommend Spectrum Mobile. They are an MVNO on Verizon towers and when the network is congested, you have little to no connection because your priority is so low. There is also no upgrade option for a prioritized connection. I dropped them after 1 month.
I test with the following tiv samsung phones:

A14 $714
A54 $770
S23fe $880
S23+ $994
Trade in my Google Pixel 6A for $757 that I originally got from metro for $50 years ago. Makes this a true slickdeal 🫡

I was holding off on opening the new phone until the credit was complete but it seems that Spectrum might charge the $50 restocking fee even if you leave it unopened, could be wrong but not sure waiting to open/activate really matters.

You mean it is still moving around? My showed it was stuck in Coppell for many days, still shows as in Coppell and undelivered even a couple of days now after the credit was issued. Assurant even seems to have received it a couple of days before they issued the credit. USPS just seems to have decided to just not scan the delivery of thousands of packages.

Interestingly, one other time that I have seen USPS not scan deliveries is with the IRS. I had to mail in a tax document and shipped it with delivery confirmation. Got to the destination quickly but they never marked it as delivered. I filed missing mail report and everything and nothing came of it. USPS just said sometimes when it is tax season they do not get around to scanning all the deliveries. This should not be permitted. Even if it takes them a day or two longer to deliver they should properly scan deliveries, especially if you are paying for service with tracking/delivery confirmation. I would argue not doing delivery scans is a form of fraud, but especially when it is part of the service that is being paid for.
I wonder if you can file an insurance claim with usps. It comes with $100 coverage. Would be nice to shave another $100 for their incompetence

Shipped my package on 2/3. It moves to the next location, and then departed, but ever since then the status on USPS website has said:

"In Transit to Next Facility, Arriving On Time. Your package is moving within the USPS network and is on track to be delivered by the expected delivery date. It is currently in transit to the next facility."

Over 4 days and no status update.

Anybody else had this issue when shipping your trade in?
Yes, my last status update was

"Arrived at USPS Regional Facility
COPPELL TX DISTRIBUTION CENTER "

And that was over a week ago. Ever since just says:

"Moving Through Network
In Transit to Next Facility, Arriving Late"

Still does not show as delivered. However, got e-mail from Assurant on Tuesday with the approval and credit appeared on Spectrum account yesterday. USPS still does not show as being delivered.

You can go through the lost package step if Assurant is still not showing as received, but I would not file a claim with USPS if Assurant received it since that would be fraud. You are suppose to check with recipient before filing a claim. That being said, if you paid for shipping costs with USPS sometimes you can get shipping costs refunded if you paid for a service with guaranteed delivery date, but that would not apply in this case.

See my previous post.

Either they lost my package (would be super pissed if so, because even if the bar code got scratched I made sure to cover the bottom half of the barcode with packing tape, so it wouldn't get completely ripped off or ruined).

I imagine if it gets lost, they'll only give me $100 from the insurance. Which is an issue, as I paid $800 for the phone <2 years ago. So have a decent chunk of change invested in my trade in.

Can't even file a missing package claim yet on USPS website, as it says if status doesn't change by 2/8/24, to refile it. So even their website is garbage, as it IS 2/8/24.

Like you said, USPS doesn't seem to be doing their jobs.
USPS was strange for me too. I went to file a missing package report and it said wait for a certain date but it was well past that date. I guess you could call and see if they can open a case on the phone. Even if your barcode got scratched, they included something that you were suppose to put inside the box that also has the barcode. I would say do not lose hope yet since many people are reporting similar situation, but it does make sense if you want to start filing things with USPS just in case.

Was In the same boat Mailed on Feb 3rd I think and was showing pick up only and then no update on USPS but on the 7th it was ready for delivery and then picked up at the same time. I called my local Post Master and he checked in their system and told me the parcel is in the TX facility and will be soon updated.

link pls my friend and how fast was the shipping

1. Do you know the exact moto g model / price. I cant order it myself and need my friend in NC to do it as he owns the Spectrum account.
2. I do have Spectrum stores near me in CA . But can i do this trade in CA on his behalf or get myself added to his account.
Has anyone tried this

3.. Finally, should i order a new line or upgrade on existing S24 line? Will my S24 get unlocked after 60 days tho it isnt connected to a Spectrum line. One of my friend was able to unlock a Cox phone outside US by just being connected to Wifi. (but the phone was connected to phone line tho')
I did not purchase the Walmart one myself, but I think it is this one:

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Straight-Talk-Motorola-Moto-G-Play-2023-32GB-Black-Prepaid-Smartphone-Loc... [walmart.com]

I would guess there is some sort of security protocol in place probably needing an ID of account holder or authorized user, otherwise people could just walk in and steal people's accounts. You could check with Spectrum to see if you can be added as authorized user but I am not sure their specific mobile security policies.

If you have the option to upgrade then it could save you on the cost of opening a second line. I have not yet seen anybody report what happens if you remove the S24 from your account before the 60 days in terms of whether you can still unlock after 60 days. I would imagine if your phone is paid off and account is in good standing you should still be able to, but probably not best to assume this is the case.

I got the trade in amount. Do I have to activate it? I will still be billed if not. So after 60 days Il would get it unlocked or do I need to activate to get it unlocked?

Everything Spectrum says should be taken with a grain of salt, but consensus seems to be 60 days from activation. Of note, their policy has changed. Last year I was able to get unlocked immediately since I paid in full, this year they are saying 60 days even though I paid in full.

You need to activate and your IMEI should be in the system for 60 days else it will be denied for unlock.

Stuck in different situation .

USPS tracking number says delivered .
Assurant status check website says in transit .
Is that normal and that changes to inspected and approved within same timeframe or it keeps showing pending in transit with no further updates .
Also is there any direct customer service number to discuss trade in progress with assurant.

What is the Spectrum number again to call for them to apply the credit to my credit card? I dialed 611 and the agent seemed to have no idea how to do it. Thanks.
