I do not recommend Spectrum Mobile. They are an MVNO on Verizon towers and when the network is congested, you have little to no connection because your priority is so low. There is also no upgrade option for a prioritized connection. I dropped them after 1 month.
I test with the following tiv samsung phones:

A14 $714
A54 $770
S23fe $880
S23+ $994
Trade in my Google Pixel 6A for $757 that I originally got from metro for $50 years ago. Makes this a true slickdeal 🫡

If you did trade in a the store then the credit should appear on your account. If Spectrum is saying that because you did the payment plan that it will take longer for the credit to apply, then I guess you have to wait for credit to appear on your account and then see if you can call and just pay off the device with remaining credit refunded to you. Otherwise if you plan to continue using Spectrum mobile (or have a free line) since they have already done the payment plan you could just keep doing the monthly payments, which will take into account the credit. The only issue is you cannot trade in or unlock the device until it is paid off.

1. Credit doesnt show up (in store receipt it showed negative balance of ~$305)
2. when the credit shows up - would it should up full (700+device value=$1185) and i can apply the payment towards device and make it pay in full?
3. i see the receipt it has Assurant RMA number, so i guess its going to get evaluated and then credit will post
4. on my online account the balance is shown for $999, where as the moto razr+ is $799 (on sale), not sure whats with that...

am so stressed dealing with these incompetent people at spectrum

thanks everybody here for the warning about the walmart moto phones. successfully got me an S24 on my free line but not going to go wild like some people. i flipped S23 last year but check around and right now the S24 is currently going for $70 lower on the same place that I sold my S23 last year in June. so if s24s are already this much lower price immediately after launch not going to blow my spectrum account messing with a bunch of S24s.

Your credit is showing up on your receipt if your balance is negative. If you traded in a device and received credit of $1185, the phone cost was $799, so now your balance is -$305 (tax seems to have been added). The store should have refunded the balance to your account/card. I have no clue how they made it an installment plan with a negative balance.

I think i understand the screw up,
the moto razr+ discount ($200) is treated as additional credit ($5.55) in addition to monthly trade-in credit, so they charged me full price ($999) and are giving me credit of $27.77 (trade-in)+ $5.55 per month;

now the problem is say in 2 weeks I get the trade in credit $1185 and prepay for phone, they will take $999 since that is the balance on device, so i would essentially lose the $200 of credits, since those were spread over 36 months...

i will try to go back to store in the morning and see if i can return the razr+and get back my traded in phone; else will have suck up the $200 loss...

this is true of any trade in but IT DOES NOT MATTER as following trade in process and terms. It rocked during S23 promos, it rocked during fold/flip5, and it rocks this year.

Seriously, go get some sunlight?

How soon do you guys actually received the trade-in credit in your account after getting the approval email confirmation? In the email saying it could take up to two billing cycles but just wondering if that's the case. TIA.

So to be clear, they do have your personal information (including name, address, social security number) and know exactly what transactions you made and where and when, but now your argument has just devolved into you all making childish personal attacks against me because the things that I said upset you? If you all feel this guilty about what you are doing, try reflecting on your own actions rather than projecting your insecurities onto me. Also trying to insult somebody by calling them "autistic" actually reflects more poorly on the person trying to use it as an insult.

I am not going to keep talking circles with you all. Spectrum has taken several steps to prevent what you all are encouraging others to do, including people here reporting multiple times per day that stores prevented them from doing the transactions or they got banned from doing transactions. If you all want to keep making the argument that what you are doing is permitted then go ahead, but that does not change the fact that what I have previously said is true.

I think your main question is going to be if you pay off the remainder of the device now, can they credit you all of the credits ($200+$1185). If they can, then problem solved, pay the balance and then get the credits back.

I really don't trust the store employees or phone support anymore (based on past experiences); they can promise anything, but the system decides, which i dont think they know how it works...and they have NO (or not willing to) overrides available most of the times

Nailer you nailed it. Spectrum CS is a bunch of pencil pushers that aren't willing to go beyond the script and help resolve issues. Their escalation tactics usually involve making false promises to get you off the phone and kick the problem down the road.

Agree regarding Spectrum customer service. But if you pay it off and they cannot properly refund the credits, then you should be able to return it since you are within the return window. However, if they can give you your trade in back and you just want to return and rebuy and start from scratch, you can do that. One thing to watch out for is restocking fee. I am not sure if they can just return and sell you the same device. Their system might make them have to return the first device, charge restocking fee, then give you a new device. I have heard mixed message on whether the $50 restocking fee is just on open devices or on any return,
