It doesn't "gum up" The ethanol arnd gasoline seperate from sitting and a layer of water forms between them, the water and Ethanol feed a specific bacteria that forms very corrosive acid and such which eats through rubber hoses, melts fiberglass, and with aluminum carbs, heads, etc it eats the coating off and corrodes the metal. The oxidation is so puffy (it is nasty puffed up crust) that nothing flows. It is "rust" but from aluminum. Trust if it were "gummed up" you could simply run fresh gas and carb cleaner through it and restore it to health. The acid literally destroys the parts requiring replacement. This begins about 2-3 weeks after you purchase the fuel. Stabilizer does not inhibit this, it slows it but it doesn't neutralize the effect.

Comes up as $899 with veteran account. Damn good deal, but I have one of the older models without bluetooth already.

Worked great during a few blackouts here in metro Detroit so far. Runs my lights, internet, TV, electronics etc., and probably the microwave if I'm careful enough. I've idled it through the night without issue.

Manual says E10 is okay so that's what I run, just need to keep up on maintenance. make sure to follow the oil change guidance, and set the fuel switch to off and run it until the carb is empty before you put it away.

Seems like a good price for a Honda. Noticed that it does not appear to have a fuel level indicator. I thought that indicator is especially vital.

You are correct. They don't have that as an option either! Good generator other wise.

I wonder since it has Bluetooth if you connect to it with an app that would indicate fuel level.

But i agree an indicator for something so small is pretty important.

Seems like with everything being battery powered now a days, unless you have a small trailer/camper or something, these are not as needed.

I guess maybe if you have a small place / apartment and just don't want all the noise of a big generator.

Maybe if you only need 2000 watts. Sucks no 30 amp outlet.

FYI, Yamaha also made good inverter. Slightly cheaper than Hondas but also very quiet.

How often do we need that 30 amp and is that a deal breaker? Just checking for a few examples. Limited knowledge here on electrical knowledge.

See Honda generators all over the farmers market I worked at. They need to run at least 5 hours, consistently, outside, in the Phoenix heat (or "cold" lol), or it affects their business. And just as important, they are relatively quiet (compared to the cheaper Chinese one our broke selves had to use 😂). When buying one for my home, based on what I've seen row after row, I'd definitely go with Honda

Not a deal breaker but it's nice to have options. It's a lot easier to plug into the 30 amp with a generator cord then a receptacle on the side of the house if you have one. Then you can turn on the individual breaker(s). Easier then running extension cords IMO.

Have several of these and they run like a Champ. People mentioning no fuel gauge but honestly it doesn't really need one. Just top it off before you start and you're good for several hours.

Actually needing another so might bite

The other post recommended ethanol-free gas but that is very inconvenient. Does this Honda have a carburetor which can gum up using regular gasoline?
