It doesn't "gum up" The ethanol arnd gasoline seperate from sitting and a layer of water forms between them, the water and Ethanol feed a specific bacteria that forms very corrosive acid and such which eats through rubber hoses, melts fiberglass, and with aluminum carbs, heads, etc it eats the coating off and corrodes the metal. The oxidation is so puffy (it is nasty puffed up crust) that nothing flows. It is "rust" but from aluminum. Trust if it were "gummed up" you could simply run fresh gas and carb cleaner through it and restore it to health. The acid literally destroys the parts requiring replacement. This begins about 2-3 weeks after you purchase the fuel. Stabilizer does not inhibit this, it slows it but it doesn't neutralize the effect.

Comes up as $899 with veteran account. Damn good deal, but I have one of the older models without bluetooth already.

Worked great during a few blackouts here in metro Detroit so far. Runs my lights, internet, TV, electronics etc., and probably the microwave if I'm careful enough. I've idled it through the night without issue.

Manual says E10 is okay so that's what I run, just need to keep up on maintenance. make sure to follow the oil change guidance, and set the fuel switch to off and run it until the carb is empty before you put it away.

Same price at Northern Tool as well. Someone might get lucky and have coupons they mail to corporate accounts. Sometime they were an additional 5%-10% off. I don;t think generators were excluded there.

No problem, i powered my gas furnace's electric fan, microwave fridge, computer for a few days when Texas had the big freeze. Mine is about 13 years old and as long as you use ethanol free gas it will run for a long time. I use it every year camping when we go out of state to Colorado or Washington to get out of the heat. Only time I had a problem was when I got the carb gummed up with bad gas. But it s a Honda and the little town in Alaska I was at had a dealer and new carb for me for a 100 bucks. Get a honda!

You might be able to run your AC (depending on what you have) if you use an Easy Start. It reduces high load at start up and enables these smaller generators to run the AC. You can sometimes run the AC off of 15amp house power with these as well.

Use this link to find non-ethanol gas. Do NOT use gas with ethanol in it. This will ruin your equipment. You may have to drive out of your way to get it but remember that you'll probably only need to use the generator in an emergency and in an emergency the last thing you want is a gummed up fuel system due to ethanol gas.

WEN's fuel shutdown valve is a life saver. It prevents residual gas from gumming up the carb. You don't need to buy ethanol-free gas for WEN generators with this feature, and your WEN can still start up after a long storage.
