So I used this on some roof racks that I removed form the Jeep and repainted…. I would not use this product again. It does not seem to stay on and is coming off from simple washing.

Reviews make this product out to be a nightmare. They also mention buying this at a $6ish price point. Was going to purchase but I'm definitely avoiding it now.

Amazon has disappointed me with anything sprayable. Invariably, 3/4 of the cans have been shelved for so long they don't spray. Whether that's propellant or hardened materials, I can't say. But I stopped ordering anything in a spray can from Amazon after a batch of undercoating was 7/8 worthless.

How did you prep, though? Did you use an adhesion promoter and scuff up the surface with a green pad prior, or did you simply wash and spray?

I used this on the bumpers on my 4runner, but the bigger 'turbo' cans. So far the stuff has held up well after a year, probably not like an etching material would though. Prep is key, a light scuff with 200 grit then a serious wipe down with acetone.

200 grit is not light scuff :-) and acetone is pretty strong stuff. Normally instructions are on the cans, like some primer needs 320 grit for sanding, some paints about the same or finer. When I did some touch up work on my car, I just used 90% iso alcohol and a new microfiber rag as paint prep. I'm guessing this stuff sprays on thick so your 200 grit sanding marks should be ok and will be covered so it should work out fine.

I read "light scuff" as in not a lot of force applied. And this thing does not spray on smooth, it's not meant to be. So sanding mark really isn't a concern. for what is worth, I scuffed up some plastic with 120 grit, just run the sand paper over it 3 or 4 times, then blew it clean with compressed air. Then I painted with the spray. It seems to work fine

I've used this in the past to touch up my trailer. Good stuff in for some more.

Exactly ... I will no longer be purchasing any spray paint from Amazon as well. They pack like idiots and then cry when you return.

I had 10 cans of tomato soup delivered this week. I laughed hysterically because not a single dent. I'm still in shock.

Whether it's a good deal or not, remember that this has to be shipped in whatever the current weather/temperature is. If you're super cold, it's going to spend at least some time in a truck that temperature or close.

You guys really wouldn't want to see what they do to a new truck at a shop then. Straight 40/60 grit through the paint. Gotta give it something to bite.
