"$1099 after applying Free $200 Amazon.com eGift Card "

you word it as if you can apply the $200 egift card towards the s24 ultra's 1299 price... which you cannot do... you get the gift card after shipment is complete....

i know there is always the next best thing, but the 8Gen3 is the last ARM reference based design from qualcomm. the next one (which has been released as Engineering sample, and phone with it should come up in upcoming month) is a qualcomm in house Oryon design named x elite, which is a lot more promising than the ARM reference design.

this is somewhat like buying the last intel mac book right before mac silicon mac book.

This seems like the best "deal" for this model phone if you want the Ultra and have no trade in or doing some carrier nonsense

if you use amazon a lot.. it is good.. esp if you get the option to pay over 12/24 months with amazon payments, imo. .. but if you read this.. and you budget to only have to pay 1099+tax bc you thought you could directly apply the 200 to the s24u order.. than this is very misleading. and yea.. 1100 is a lot for a phone.. but with 7 years of support, i think that's what i heard samsung is doing, 1100 isn't bad if you plan to try and use it for even 5 years of that 7 years. the battery will prob be shit before samsung stops the 7 years of support.

yeah i think this is the best "deal" i've seen.. for a straight up purchase, unlocked, no bootloader locks. and some have the option for amazon monthly payments which is another plus.

i think I can sell my s22ultra for 400-450 locally. that plus the 200 eGC is about what samsung is offering for my s22u trade-in value ($650tiv).. and I don't have to worry about my trade-in "being lost in transit."

that's good to know... i'll prob still get the s24u bc of the flat display... tired of this dogshit curved edge display on the s22ultra.. i'll just trade up when the s25u comes out

They will just release an "update" that will break your phone after 3 years or so. It's standard practice for Apple and Samsung. Kind of sad people feel they can only be seen with Samsung or Apple.

yep. typical practice. what can you do tho. l'll let other ppl do the work and draw the lawsuits and hopefully something can be done about it. until then.. my samsung s7 still works fine.. my iphone 5 still works as a phone... no updates, but they can still be used to make calls and basic stuff. and these are old af. and that's why i use samsung and apple.. their phones are still usable after 5 years

i don't give a shit about what i'm seen with lmfao. most of the time.. ppl don't even see my phone. i use samsung and apple bc they keep pushing out software/security/gui updates.

i'd go asus zenphone.. but asus is dogshit with firmware updates. on top of that.. they're abandoning their zephone line... i'd go with sony, but they're trash with their 2 years of updates lmfao.. what a joke. i'd go with razor.. but again.. same old shit.. none of these other companies even update their phones after a year or two... they push hardware out and then shit on their customers more than samsung and apple.

i was going to go with pixel until they released a phone with a worthless temp sensor on it.(why the fk would i wanna pay for that worthless sht).. and then the shit QC with screws going through their screens... wtf. nah.. i'll wait for pixel 9 to see if they can get their sht together.

and i couldn't care less about all the phones that aren't actually sold and supported inside of the U.S. like huawei and alike... if I can't get domestic support if something goes wrong with my phone, i don't give a shit about them lmao. that said, i know there are very good phones in the east, but they don't have local support. i'm not importing my phone and then getting 0 warranty and support.

100% agree that no one is going to be using these phones in 7 years... the 7 year of support promise is sorta a bluff.. i'm sure they'll actually send out small security updates or something.. but samsung and google know ppl are going to upgrade before those 7 years.. and also.. the battery will be dead before those 7 years.. so ppl will prob just upgrade instead of replacing the battery.

Totally agree sounds amazing 7 years support, but I doubt anyone would own a phone that long. I think 5 years of full supports sounds good enough to me.

Why not? Technology plateaued when compared to the initial years of Android. In 4-5 years, these will still be solid phones for people who just need [by-then] basic functionalities.
