Honestly, I wish I was in the market for another Strat, this is the my second favorite color combo for the AmPro2 (behind the one I currently have - Miami blue/maple neck) and the price is right

Id jump if interested/on the fence. The AmPro2s are fantastic.

These used to regularly make the front page at $1249 and price has slowly been creeping down. I'm holding out, but if these drop down to $1000, I might not be able to resist.

Do it!! I don't regret what I paid (20% off MSRP) and this is another $260 off that price. If you're OK with the color, that is. Dark night suits the rosewood fingerboard, IMO…

Tokai has some pretty S-styles with matching headstock. There are several MIJ Vintage Series AST116s on reverb for less than $1000 including shipping from Japan.

Same here, I got the sunburst and no regrets. It's been my go to since I bought it, and I own an elite. Something special about that neck and it even sounds good acoustically. My only minor nitpicks would be I wish it came with locking tuners (I like the fast string changes) and I don't care for the floating bridge on this style. That said it hasn't annoyed me enough to change anything and best of all it stays in tune wonderfully!

Squier Contemporary series has matching headstocks, I know it is a bit on the other end of the spectrum from this in terms of price, but mine (2018 Squier Contemporary HH) has a fit and finish that exceeds my other 2 MIM strats (2006 and 2014 standard strats). My American has prettier neck wood figuring than all of them though..
