I purchased a couple sets of Pokemon MEGA last year for my kid. The quality of MEGA is really disappointed. Some parts are too tight, and some are too loss.
I would rather to pay more to buy LEGO sets.
Don't get me wrong, I love my legos, but consumers win when there is competition.

My seven year old got a bunch of these Halo sets for Christmas (we spent the preceding year playing through all the campaigns in coop), and the whole time we were building them I was wishing these were real Legos. Not only do the loose manufacturing tolerances make them a pain to put together, but they also fall apart on him way more than Legos ever did.
All that said, he still loved them, so I'm probably going to break down and buy this in preparation for his birthday… and then regret it the whole time we're building it.
