Newbie alert!
I just moved into a new home which has water outlets on the outside, both front and back of the house

What else do i need to setup a sprinkler system so it waters the lawn in summer. TIA

I went ahead and ordered it anyways at this price point. My manual rain bird controller that came with my house 6 years ago is already starting to have issues and will probably need to be replaced soon. I was already planning to replace it with a smart controller. From what I've read, reviews are pretty good. Worse case, Costco's return policy should in come handy if Rachio's customer service/warranty falls through.

I suppose its the same as the one sold by Costco with the difference of zones between them. Is that correct. Thank you!

Yes, and last year their cloud service was down quite frequently... or at least seemed to be out every time I was working on my sprinklers. When cloud was down, could only turn on sprinkler manually.

Great price. I paid $150 for it this past summer at Costco. Easy to install if you understand basic wiring. But if wires confuse you, just hire someone to run the sprinkler wire to the device.

Sometime easier to buy another controller than run wire all the way around the house to a single controller. I still can't believe how expensive that sprinkler wire is.

Rachio Pro Series Launch
We're excited to start shipping New PRO Series Controllers on Monday, February 14 exclusively to distribution partners. The PRO Series will replace the current Rachio 3 Smart Sprinkler Controller (all Rachio 3 controllers will stop shipping after February 8, 2022). Rachio will continue to support Rachio 3 warranties which are now 2 years from the date of manufacture.
I have used Rachio (2 controllers ) and they are great. I had the old Rain Bird controller and it acted up often (not watering). With Rachio, no more issue.
If Rachio does on provide warranty, you still have Costso. Combined with water utility rebate ( if applicable ), this is a great buy if you need.

"(all Rachio 3 controllers will stop shipping after February 8, 2022)" This seems strange since Rachio is still selling Rachio 3 on their site.

Different number of zone, can be different unit entirely. I don't think Rachio ( check their site, they have 4, 8 and 16-zone ) has 12-zone product. That may be exclusive to Costco/Rachio only.

Rachio is still selling Rachio 3 as best seller on their site. I doubt you don't get full warranty from them.

Valves, pipes in the ground, sprinkler heads, controller, and wires from the valves to the controller
